Sixty six is very pleasant for end of summer. We're having a 4-day heat wave up here (90s . . .). UGH. Supposed to clear out by the end of the weekend. I HATE the heat.
We just went from 90's up until Tuesday, then temps started dropping late last night and we have highs just barely touching 70 and lows are 55 for the rest of the week. Open the windows it is sleeping weather!

How I got into "trouble" with my mother.

Mom recently got Instagram. It's her first social media account. She only follows me and a few others.

Anyway, even though she and my dad never see it, I always post a Happy Anniversary post to them on Instagram and Facebook and then pass along the well wishes to them from other people. This year, of course, she saw it. And at first she was like, "oh, this is so nice of you". Then she saw the picture...

It was of them at the top of Diamond Head. It was a picture from a few years ago. I think it's a nice picture. She goes, "Eww, why that picture? Look at that hat! I don't like that hat anymore. And that picture is old. I don't wear that shirt anymore. Why didn't you pick a different picture?"

So apparently, next year, I have to let her pick out the picture because apparently, I have no idea what pictures she looks good in. 🤣

Pro tip: NEVER EVER let your parents follow you on social media;)
Never been happier the parental units have no clue about how to join social media sites

Yup... that's why this site is just known as "one of those Disney boards I'm on" to my parents. I have several accounts, but I'm really only active here, but they don't need to know which one. 🤣

She also got on Reddit. And then she found my Reddit. So I had to get off Reddit. 🤣

I love my mom, but I'd rather her not follow me on social media. Except Instagram, which apparently I have to be more careful about now. 🤣

She also found the cat's Instagram account. And then started following it because "I wanna see pictures of the cats." You live with the cats Mom!

Prices are definitely good on all the knock-offs.

However, I have some hesitation about the Olay (skin moisturizing) brand versus the knock-off. Most of the ingredients are ("mostly the same") as Olay. But, I'm not a chemist, and can't comment about any of the knock-off brand's substitutions. My other general concern is about quality control, which depends upon how and where the knock-off items were manufactured. (If Olay, for example, actually made the knock-off cream and put it in knock-off packaging, that would be o.k. Yet, the fact that some ingredients differ, makes me pause.) The knock offs could all be perfectly fine, but I usually tend to question (any) items that reduce the price. That aside, most brand names overcharge on their products.

I would read the ingredients to check if they're safe as I do that any way due to allergies. A couple of knockoff products are actually safer for me. I haven't checked them out yet but next time I'm there I'm going to look at the ingredients of the facewash. I wish she had said what the differences are as they may or may not have made a difference in performance
