It's quite pretty and we've done the drive numerous through the Blue Ridge Mountains times as dh's grandfather used to live in TNIf you drove 81 to 77 to I-95 to I-4 to WDW , I-77 you pass the Blue Ridge Mountains scenic drive with hills ( no real hills or mountains to speak of in FL ). I would not drive on I-77 on that stretch in any type of bad weather ( snow and ice ).
I just made a quick trip out and immediately in my area it all appears unscathed. That said, about a mile northwest of my place there were a number of large trees uprooted, fortunately parallel with Route 70, one of the main highways into Raleigh with a number of tree cleanup trucks on either side of the highway clearing up debris, but only in that little section (less that quarter mile). I went just to the west of that to RDU Airport and it looked untouched. Weird! It was a little shocking to see how close that came to my home.Glad you’re all right. They had lots of damage from Greensboro to Raleigh. Thousands out, trees down, and power lines down. DH is headed there with a crew.
It's amazing how localized these winds can be! A powerful storm came through our area last Monday. We had some leave down but surprisingly, no limbs or trees. Our daughter lives 3 miles from us and her neighborhood was completely different. Many mature trees down, blocking the exit from her road. They were without electricity service for 3 days but thankfully, they have a generator and had a full tank of propane. Many of her neighbors weren't so fortunate.I just made a quick trip out and immediately in my area it all appears unscathed. That’ll work!!I would if I had limes, the lime juice in the bottle isn't the same. Perhaps we will do a tiki drink with some dark rum instead.
