In theory I can walk to our ShopRite (it's not really a safe walk...no sidewalks). Anyway, I'm not a big fan of ours. The only reason I usually go there is their produce department. It's top notch. Other than that, I hate everything about it. I usually go to Safeway, or if I need something specialty, I go to Wegmans.
In some cities there are Asian , Indian, Middle Eastern markets with fresh fish fruits and vegetables at times cheaper than the neighborhood store and a ton of variety of products you don't see at your local supermarket. The sights and smells, food courts and I get hungry walking in there.

Our Aldi and Walmart have surprisingly good produce departments but would it surprise you to know that we know the produce manager at our Shoprite and we can get sale items by the case even when there is a limit?
Wait!!!!!!! Do you not get your canned tomatoes at Shoprite?????????? also bought by the case! Just ask @Tony the Tigger if you have questions about the proper procedure for buying those;)

I usually go to them when I'm closer to the city if it's not farm market season. A few I know sell live fish. Yes fish and crustaceans

Years ago when I was CA there was an Asian supermarket called 99 Ranch Market locations in southern CA and a few other states where they had fish live and frozen at least in the locations we went to in L.A. . They did if you like free frying of the fish you bought and you can take it home or buy some sides including white rice and grab a seat in the outdoor tables to eat well.

When your bosses and his bosses tell everyone they are doing a good job and go team go.

I'll give you dysfunctional workplace...

So my boss all the sudden, after good 1:1s since I moved under him, has decided that for some reason, my performance isn't good enough for him. I think he would rather have me in office, even though we have a hybrid work policy where most people only have to be in the office two days, I have a medical exemption so I don't have to be in at all, and now the rest of our team is entirely remote. He told me the other day he doesn't know what I do all day. So I told him I could send daily updates. He said that sounded great.

But I have decided to go the malicious compliance route. Not only do I send him a very detailed update about what I do all day, but I send him a constant stream of IMs all day about what I'm working on. I remain perfectly polite, but I just give him menial updates. "Oh, this is done. This is done". I even ask him how to prioritize stuff I would normally know how to prioritize.

Eventually this is going to annoy him and I'm going to say, "But you wanted to understand what I was doing all day..."

It's on my bucket list of places to visit

That's a really good point to remind people about. There are small shops here and there, that aren't always the first places you think of. But aside of some of the interesting foods they carry, they were also a good source of staples like paper towels, for example, (during lean pandemic delivery slowdowns, of items). Certain items would sell out immediately in the big stores, but often the little stores still had stock.

Still snowed in here on the top of Mount Krumpet:cry::cry::cry::cry: Just 10 miles from here as the crow flies not even a flake, ok lots of flakes just not of the snow variety
Just wondering -- did the plows only go by once during the storm? Any city salter trucks pass by? I'm trying to figure out how you guys are snowed in, a full day after the storm.

City roflmao. I live in the woods! We had a foot of snow over ice and during the storm the plow couldn't even get up the hill (main road), they had to go the long way around to get to my "main road". The main road is "passable" but the side roads are questionable to say the least. My street being just off of the "main" one for our area is now "passable" with the 4 wheel drive vehicle. The ice screwed everything up but considering it was a foot I'm not complaining.

The patient is in PT right now after a fairly painful night. I’m at the gym a couple blocks away. 💪🏻
I hope the doctor gave him some pain medicine, to help him sleep tonight. The PT session this morning should have helped a bit, but sometimes PT takes a number of sessions.

Maybe you both can order in a nice dinner tonight, and watch a movie.

You might need to get out there and plow yourself. If you have two shovels, just attach to your car! :hilarious:
