You aren't alone. The original was charming and certainly a classic, but, the songs in Returns were fabulous. When listened to in context with the story... "The place were lost thing go", has to tug at the heart strings. And "A cover is not the Book" is the replacement for Supercalifragilistic etc. Generally returns stuck with the same format as the original as far as how upbeat and emotional parts seem to coincide. Nicely done with just enough Cameo's to make it enjoyable and enough story connections to keep it "in the family" so to speak. The movie had so many connecting tributes to the early Mary Poppins that it was fun just to look for them. It is, overall, a little darker then the original, but, had the same type of happy ending Kite wise.

Exactly!

That’s how it is for my nephew. They are just under 2 miles, but it would be a horrible walk.. no way to do a straight route or avoid busy streets with no sidewalks.

I think you are just really lucky! I’ve always heard of school districts having a 2 mile rule.

The thing is though, even if someone does qualify for a bus, a 9am start time would be tough for parents. I don’t know how people in your district (or any with a 9:00 start) do it.

It’s crazy to me that in 2019 schools and sports just assume that everyone had a stay at home parent available in late mornings or late afternoons.
I think you are not thinking outside YOUR box. :)
The sports teams and gymnastics schools etc. set the times for their activities based on the availability of the children. They have no other choice. Since they know the local elementary school dismisses around 3:30pm they simply schedule their report times for the kids accordingly.

My dd's cheer/gymnastics gym starts at 4:30 for regular classes. Practices for teams start at 5 for younger kids, and after 6 for older ones. They used to start earlier but parents had a hard time getting kids there. Some parents will carpool their kids if one cannot get their kid to the gym.

Oh I will check put that game, thanks!

T did the Little Passports USA edition in 2nd grade, I think I might have to renew my subscription.

I’m a bit nervous about the lack of homework assignments, although I heard 4 th grade was homework hell, so that’s a positive.. I guess I’ll put my trust in the “experts” and hope the kids still learn just as much this way.

It's only been a few days. ;) In time, you'll get a better outlook on the overall teaching approach, etc. Besides, T is smart, and he'd do well, even if there wasn't any teacher at all, so not to worry! :joyfull:

Yep, the shelter took care of the spaying. The only thing they needed today was their last de-wormer and 3rd distemper.

I recall when we adopted Jack (about 10 years ago), that we essentially paid the spay fee up front to the shelter, and signed a form that he'd see the vet for that, within 30 days. (Also, we paid extra above that, to add the chip.) The shelter then gave us a prepaid form to take to the vet, to have the procedures done.

All in all, he was an expensive little critter (close to $500 I think) to adopt from the shelter. And since, he's also eaten us out of house and home for the past 10 years, too. :hilarious:

We paid an adoption fee of $89 for both kittens. The adult cats have no adoption fee. Our shelter spays/neuters all the kittens they have when they reach 3 months of age. I have no idea about dogs, but they really didn’t have that many dogs there.
