Omg. I wish I had pictures of this.

This little squirrel wandered into the Beach Club. Like, literally inside. Near Marketplace. It was so scared. Started wandering around further into the hotel.

A CM went after the squirrel, picked him up, and carried him outside.

It was around earlier today. Ran across B's shoe. He freaked out. It was the same one; it's so little.

Interesting point, from the convenience aspect; and come to think of it, I only knew one guy who always carried his passport and used it for I.D. (This was over 25 years ago.) He flew international from time to time, and I guess he just kept his passport on him out of habit or whatever.

I think for some people, they're also just trying to avoid an extra fee (for the Real ID processing cost), if they already have a passport. I can understand that, too.
The nice thing about being young is that I've not had to worry one bit about this Real ID nonsense. Mine was a real ID from the time I got my learner's permit.

Sept 11th. Well, they past a bill right after for them and 19 years laters, it's here.
There's more to it than that.

After 9-11, I think around 2005, the government drafted the bill which included enhanced ID requirements.

Several states opposed the act, claiming that it was unconstitutional, taking away state power and individual freedoms (though, from a constitutional point of view, I think the necessary and proper clause applies). The law remained in legal limbo for years and years. Some states started implementing it, some formally opposed it. The federal government ended up providing money to states for implementation, and basically, the legal limbo has died and now states and territories are becoming compliant. Most are compliant, with the exception of New Jersey (of course...) and a few others. They've been granted extensions.

Maryland started to become compliant about the time I was learning to drive, and now they're fully compliant, hence why I never had to worry about it; I had to bring my birth certificate and social security card when I got my learner's permit. There were some issues with some IDs not being fully compliant, but you didn't have to pay for it if you weren't. My brother is getting just an ID since he won't drive any time soon, and I think it's about $20 for ID.

You know what this means! DH will say, “well, he got one, can I ? “🤣 It is so cute!
But, he is also eyeing that $300 train!😉
We are considering the castle for Christmas. Would have got it this trip but no room in the car . And apparently leaving mum behind wasn't an option.
The train is less interesting as it is DL.

Now if they made lego replicas of the cruise ships ...

No cost on real ID here in Michigan... is there a fee other places?

MA is $50. :banghead:

My state started giving out the Real ID a month after I got my license. Not going back til 2023. The whole passports to travel in your own country is absolutely crazy. More like the government wants more money and provide the people fake security.

Just to clarify, if you already have a valid passport, you don't "have" to get a Real ID driver's license if you don't want to. The Real ID drivers license allows you to fly on domestic flights ONLY, as does a valid passport. The only difference is that a passport will also allow you to fly on international flights, whereas the Real ID will not be accepted for international.

Since when did drivers licenses not become a real id?

It's a whole (new) separate process over the past 2 years or so. Each state determined when they could comply with the new regulations (again, just for those people who want to fly). Some, like MA and a few others, were given some extention of time. I think the entire country has to be compliant by 2020. In MA, it's January, 2020.
