I think the fact that I hate Comcast so much is part of the reason I haven't yet gone to Uni. I mean, I'm sure it's a nice theme park, but ugh, the fact that it's owned by Comcast...just ugh.
I suppose it is up to you, but you are missing out on a very nice place because you feel that Comcast Cable is the same as Universal. Run completely differently because it has to be. But, like I said, that is up to you.

I never did! But that helicopter kept searching for something for a very long time - at least 30 minutes.

No online searches turned up anything.

Glad to hear it seems to have been nothing really serious for your neighborhood.
Had that happen with helicopters a few times here over the 30+ years we’ve lived in this home.
The 2 most recent times (one just a few months ago) we never heard what was goin’ on either.
But, the first time was late one night when our kiddos were really little. The chopper just kept circling over the 35 acre cattle ranch (now a development) next to us. Finally, I walked out front and saw my neighbors (both former full-time military, then National Guard). They had heard some chatter on their police radio about possible gunshots and thought someone might be hiding on the ranch. They asked if I had a firearm, just in case. When I told them no, the wife promptly went and got me her spare .22 pistol.
We all went inside and locked our doors, and waited while the chopper circled a while longer.
The next morning when I went to return the pistol, our neighbors told me what happened.
There was indeed a gunshot. One. A lady on the first street on the other side of the ranch shot herself dead.
This neighborhood has had so little crime over the years as it is, so, although very sad, it was all a huge relief that some crazy wasn’t runnin’ rampant in the middle of the night around here.

Being a neophyte when it comes to the MDE situation. My sister created her own account, which is linked to me under Family and Friends. I was able to make a restaurant reservation for two with no problem. However, I went to try and connect some FP's and it is insisting that I load her ticket number. Should that have been automatic or do I have to manually enter it on my end. @Tuvalu
Go to you profile and click tickets. You'll be given the option to add a ticket and assign it to her.

If you screw up, you can always call Disney and have them add it to her account.

It's only partially that. The main thing is that I pay around $600 per year for my Disney ticket and about $180 for my Hershey ticket and I usually don't feel like spending more money on tickets when I'm done with all of that.

The other thing is that I can't stand Harry Potter and a large chunk of that park is dedicated to Harry Potter. Ugh.

Edit: I also should note that I also thought Avatar was an extremely boring movie and although the land is well-done, I pretty much only go over there to eat.

Everything I've ever bought from Walmart quality-wise I find lower than Target. I bought a pair of earbuds years ago when we were in Hilton Head and mine broke. They were terrible. I came home, went to Target and got new ones, and then threw them out. Even Saturday, I went to get a water-resistant phone pouch. It worked for a while...then leaked. My Amazon ones are better (sadly, Mom misplaced hers and took mine, hence the emergency Walmart to run).

Plus I hate them as a corporation, so there's that.

I'm one of those people who goes into Target for one thing and comes out with 20. 🙄 I love Target, but I usually just buy stuff online or run to Walgreens for makeup and toiletries to avoid walking out with a bunch of stuff I don't need.

I have no idea what happened to the second sentence of my post. Yeti's I guess.
Anywho, if I am buying identical products ie toothpaste, WonderBread, Ziplock bags etc I lean to buying at Walmart. I'll suck it up, it is a business I hate too in principle but I changed a great deal during the last recession and keeping a family afloat while having two kids in college. Learned to do what I needed to do.

I'd rather shop at Meijer or Target both for different reasons. I like Costco more than Sams club by leaps however shop more at Sam's as it isn't near as far away as Costco is but I have business memberships to both.

I actually had an economics professor who gave a lecture about why not to shop at Walmart. I don't remember most of it, but I was sitting there thinking, "Oh good, it's not just me." :hilarious:

I usually buy whatever is on sale at the grocery store. My mom taught me to shop very well at grocery stores. Shop sales, buy generic, etc. Bread I can usually find for $2 or $3 per loaf, sometimes $1. I don't care about the brand. I'm the kind of person who stands there looking at price tags to figure out what's the best price. On sale? Yup, grab three bottles of that, it'll last a while.

The grocery store is also only two minutes from me. Walmart and Target are 20. Walgreens is next to the grocery store, or there's three within ten minutes of work. I usually opt for the one five minutes from work, but options are nice.:hilarious: The one has a drive-through pharmacy; I must try that someday.

The closest Costco is 40+ minutes away. Sams is right near Walmart, but since it's owned by Walmart, we don't belong there. Admittedly, the no-Walmart thing was an opinion I picked up from my parents and carried into adulthood. Funny, we're complete opposites in some ways (ie. They buy nothing but GM cars, I drive a Honda) but then we're exactly the same in other ways (not liking to pay too much for cell phone bills, a hatred of both Walmart and Comcast). We're very big on not shopping at Walmart in this house.

Yep. Know the pro's and con's of Walmart. I know I should not shop at Hobby Lobby or eat at Chick (fortunately Chick makes me sick) Basically the wealthier families are the more financially free they are to make more choices for the good of all mankind on all sorts of theater fronts.

Economic Professors are not wrong but many have likely never struggled so there is that nativity. Not bad people but some have never walked in the shoes of the less fortunate. Likely don't live in food deserts. For the most part my family has been very fortunate but I'd be lying if I said the last recession didn't sting us and many others that I know. Pray it is a long time before another recession hits.

I feel kind of the same. I have no desire to go to Universal. I’m sure it is nice and it sounds like interesting attractions but in the end I have no connection to the characters there. But I really have nothing against Universal.

Potter takes up a bit less room than you may think and it's got great quick service
