We are on the dining plan this trip. Only once a year for our long trip. Out of pocket cause the $$$ are better for room discounts. Deluxe at moderate price. DON’T pay rack rate Moto.

So today $825 in discounted gift cards purchased 30 in all. Will consolidate before we depart. For the other meals and stuff. Love paying off prior to trip.

Note. If you purchase at Sams Club the discounts have changed. You can purchase in $50 $75 $150 and $500 incriminates. At the moment the $75 yields the highest discounts.
Do the math! :)

Plus using Disney Chase rewards give back program
Is it a better percentage than the 5% at Target? I know BJ’s had a deal for a weekend with a discount that was better than Target’s, but generally Target’s better

Speaking of shopping, this weekend (in MA only) is a tax free shopping weekend. Of course, the one weekend we don't have to pay the 6.25% sales tax, there's nothing we need. So, I'll just get a few bags of Jack's dog food to save a few dollars. (Yup, in my state, they tax dog food. :banghead: ) Note: No tax on people food, unless it's a luxury item like Godiva chocolates, for example.
I remember you saying the same thing last year. You need to plan better so you can take advantage of the no tax weekend. ;) At least in PA we don’t get taxed on clothing.

I know! I've been watching the local news, and seeing the various interviews with happy people who are going out to buy all kinds of things. Problem is, we need things when we need them. Unfortunately, that never seems to line up with tax-free weekends for us anyway. :arghh: The big winners here are those buying the expensive appliances, etc. (The cap on a tax.-free purchase is $2,500.)

Fyi: we're not taxed on general clothing -- it's only taxed if it exceeds reasonable limits, such as furs, etc.

Man, you guys always chat up a storm after I'm already in bed..... night owls!

Time to get on the road... we are traveling about an hour east today, DH is DMing at a Dungeons and Dragons convention this weekend.... I'm going to go visit with his oldest while I"m waiting to get into the room... then it's swimming, hottub, and I'm bringing my laptop and knitting... so I'll definitely be online later! Have a good day!

No pics until my art actually looks like art! :p Yesterday morning's session went a bit better -- no faces! ;) We worked a bit on scenics. The main takeaway was that a mistake many newbies to art make, is that they place their drawing right in the middle of the paper. That's a no-no. He showed us a grid of how better perspective can be had when placing the picture at different locations on the page.

We also worked on spheres and how they can be used for many purposes like shaded apples (depending upon the direction of the light hitting them), or repurposed to create balloons. That was fun. :)
Very cool but I want a few pics! I share my "art" with you:p

Got on the Hershey Park ferris wheel. They won't let single riders on, so I went on with a man and his granddaughter, who looked to be about nine. I talked with them a bit, asked where they were from, mentioned I'm a season passholder and that I'm up about once a month. "Oh, you come with your boyfriend?" "Well, usually my brother; he's on vacation with our parents." "You don't have a boyfriend?"

🙄 Didn't go to my relatives' get together, still get questioned about having a boyfriend.

Sitting in the hotels business center charging my laptop, since they don't have my room ready (check-in isn't until 4p, but I thought I would double check) Was at DH's sons for the majority of the morning while killing time... he made a nice mini frittata's in muffin tins that were quite tasty... But they also torture me watching some horrible tv... so I decided to take my chances on my room being ready early. I rolled the dice and lost!

And just as I sent that I got a room ready call. They picked us as one of their guests of the day, so not only did we get a Radisson Rewards bag of goodies, we also got a bag that had more goodies... a drink bottle, headphones, a few more snacks, and coupons for free valet parking and a free drink at starbucks downstairs... I just got a starbucks drink for myself, so I'll have to get one for the hubs. After I do that, I'm gonna get my swim on!

Wait a moment -- they don't let you on a ferris wheel solo? 🙄 That's a strange rule.

@MinnieM123 have you ever been up in anything like this View attachment 398977

I like that! But no, never been in one of those.

However (over 20 years ago) I bought a ticket for a passenger ride-along, in an open cockpit, old biplane -- it looked a little bit like the one below. That was wild being up in a plane that was all "open" and we had to wear the headcap and goggles, too!
