DD has already texted from band camp, she forgot her dot book. This is a small notebook you wear around your neck at camp, so you can write down where you are supposed to be during the halftime show. So, I will be dropping that off at her 1:00 break.

And off to the orthodontist with DS. He managed to break his retainer in Slovakia. We went on vacation a couple days after he came back, so he has been without one for a bit. This should be interesting. Expensive for sure.
Good luck and may tomorrow be much better xoxo

@BuddyThomas My oldest dd wants to see Waitress. Did you see it and would you recommend it? It is going to be on tour and will be in Hershey in the Spring. I was wondering if I should get tickets. Is it ok to bring younger kids like 9 and 12 as well?
Hey there. I saw it and I didn't love it, to be honest, but a lot of people do. I'm not exactly the target audience for this, though. To me, the whole thing is a build-up to the song "She Used to Be Mine" near the end - that is a truly beautiful song. I found everything leading up to that to be not that great. But again. don't take my word for it. It has an 87 out of 100 score on Show Score - https://www.show-score.com/broadway-shows/waitress Although I wouldn't necessarily call it a family show, there is nothing really offensive about it, although she has an abusive husband and she has an affair with her gynecologist. Sara Bareilles wrote the score, so if you are a fan, maybe get tickets. Hope this helps! :)

What about Aladdin? Cats is also playing in Hershey, but I had seen it too many times to count when I lived in NY. Everytime we had visitors from out of town, guess who got to take them to the theater?:banghead:

Well stated. Choreography camp starts tomorrow. Excited to watch the developments.

Oh fun!

T is attending a makeup tryout for baseball, next weekend.
However, we may not have enough players to make a National team this year. :(

7 of our players (5 4th graders, 2 5th graders) went to travel baseball teams as of this summer.

It’s crazy how athletic T’s grade is. I think now they have 14 boys playing travel/club sports. There’s only 23 boys in the 4th grade!

The huge downside to this is the 4th grade school teams are suffering as a result.

Good luck to him! That sure is a large percentage of boys in club sports.

Thanks. I highly doubt they will be able to form the team. I spoke to the baseball coordinator today and he doesn’t see a possibility unless we have more boys than scheduled show up to the makeups.
It’s ok though, they’ll still have a school team, just not a stacked team. Sad for the school though. I don’t know if this has ever happened before, and we are the only grade who is facing not having a National team.

It really is crazy.. the boys are split between AAU basketball, club soccer, club lacrosse, and club baseball, one boy does competitive dance.
I think 3 girls play club soccer and a few competitive dancers as well. So it’s not just the boys. The girls are doing their thing too. :) It’s just the amount of boys that makes it so crazy. Club sports are definitely ruining school sports. :(

I don’t know what’s going to happen in regards to playing in high school. I’m sure some kids will switch sports by that time..going to lacrosse, tennis, golf, and swimming..(Tennis and golf start in 5th and 6th grade at our school)... some quitting altogether, maybe.

However, If it continues like this it’s going to be a tough freshman class to make a sports team!
