This is Lime Sponge Jello. It has 75% less sugar and calories per serving yet it is standard jello.

4 cups water-boil. Add 2 large boxes of Jello and dissolve. Pour in large mixing bowl and take out just before it is jelled. Do not add more water. Using an electric mixer beat until it goes from Kelly Green to a light mint green and is is filled with mini bubbles and light weight similar to whipped cream. Chill again till it jells again.

Parents and brother came back from Hawaii yesterday. I went and got them from the airport. One of these days I'm going to need to insist on driving home when I pick them up when they're jet lagged. Anyway...

Getting my room ready for my closet's wall to be destroyed. Moving into the basement for about a week or so tomorrow. Fun times.

This is such an uplifting story about how your DDs contribute their time to the BOD of the Pediatric Cancer Foundation. People like your DDs work quietly behind the scenes, to help others.

We need more stories like this to be shared, as it seems like there is, at times, an imbalance of negativity in the daily news.

Thank you very much, Minnie...!!! :)
They both love helping to make a difference...!!!!!!!

I think I posted about this way back when, but, that was a while back, so I’m not sure...?
Anyhoo.......
Another of the survivors that was there last night is a young lady who I will just refer to as T.
Her and her family (she has and older brother and a younger sister) show up to every event.
We met her and her family back in early 2013 when our DDs first got involved with the foundation. She was 9 years old at the time.
She was diagnosed with brain cancer at the age of 3, so she had already been battling this for 2/3rds of her life. And, unfortunately, she was slowly losing her eyesight.
The girls mentioned that she had always wanted to visit WDW, but, had never had the chance. We all knew where this was heading...!!! ;)
I was still a CM at our local Disney Store. Although, I was back full time at the firm at that time, I was still doing Friday closing shifts and working Sat. and Sun. shifts, and still maintained my full CM perks.
For our July of ‘12 trip (the one oldest DD got proposed to in front Cinderella Castle on ) I had been gifted many perk ;) park passes from fellow CMs that said they were never going to be able to use them.
So, I talked to our SM, and was able to put the word out to all 3 Stores in our area to donate any unused/never going to be used Park passes so that they could then be gifted to T and her family.
In the meantime, others donated what they could to cover flights, resort, food, spending money, etc.
Originally, we were all going to go together (our June of ‘13 trip), as it was their first trip and we all thought that would be cool, and because we also had some Disney Park experience. But, T had some complications and they were not able to go until Sept.
Fortunately, much of her eyesight was still intact for their September trip.
We next saw them at T’s 10th birthday party that Oct. Although DWifey and T’s mother talked on the phone a few times shortly after their WDW trip, and she said she could not be more thankful for what everyone did to get them there while T could still see so much of it.
T will be 16 this coming Oct.
Unfortunately, her eyesight continued to deteriorate as the docs predicted. Although she can see light and dark, she is legally blind, and uses a cane for the blind, most of the time.
But, the good news is that this is the second year in a row that her mother has been able to announce at the “Splash Bash” that T’s latest scans came back comepletely clear, and there is no sign of cancer anywhere in/on her body...!!!!!!!

Every time we see them they are all still so thankful for what everyone did to make that trip happen, and we enjoy listening to their memories, and sharing ours with them, as well...!!!!! :)

Beautiful story. Lots of goodness in our world. We need to remember this.

@ajrwdwgirl welcome home. Are you getting slammed by these storms too. This afternoon has been nasty.

Thanks! Yes we did get some of the storms. We landed at about 5am and got slammed with heavy rain on the drive back but luckily the heavy rain was only for the last 10 minutes of the drive. It made it a little scary though for those last 10 minutes. Once home I took a nap before driving to get the dog while hubs went to work. But during my nap we lost power so I slept a little longer because I couldn't get my car out of the garage anyway! But on the drive back from getting Kapono at my sister's house the last half was in a torrential (almost Florida-like) downpour.

Here's a silly question that might make you smile and think: "That Steve....what are we gonna do with him?😌"...............Anyway, which type of bread sealer do you prefer....the twist tie or the yellow thingymabob? View attachment 384492

Gently “poof” the air out of the bag, hold it at the top, spin the lower portion until twisted properly, flip the top end under the bag, and stash it back on the fridge shelf.
PSFS (Poof Spin Flip Stash ;))...!!! :)

It was a powerful storm. Glad you were safe.

God Loved me. Look how close.

I had to deal with sounds of thunder earlier in the after and it is the same storm system that is in Illinois. The weather is mild right now in the part of Wisconsin I live in.

I have a little bit of an idea in Illinois due to what I seen on tv for the Chicagoland Speedway race track located in Joliet, Illinois.

Race is under red flag due to weather. The clouds were very black and saw lightning very close to race track on tv screen. The winds are very strong by the race track also with at least 3 car covers blew off after race teams put car covers on race cars.
Yep. Know the area well. My Dad is buried in the veterans cemetery there.
