Sorry, meant to respond to this post yesterday, but, got distracted...
I have never been prone to claustrophobia anyway, so I had no problems whatsoever, in that regard. DWifey can get that way a bit sometimes, but, not very often. Even though she is a mildly nervous flyer, it’s not because she’s sealed inside a metal tube hurtling through the sky at 35,000ft. doing over 550mph...it’s because she feels helpless by not being in control.
Did you have a stateroom with a balcony on y’all’s last cruise, or was it an inside stateroom...?
I can’t remember if y’all took a DCL Cruise, but, they, and many other lines, have had virtual portholes (a live camera feed from the side of the ship) for many years now in their inside staterooms. That may, or may not, make a difference.
If it was just an overall ship thing, then that is a whole different animal, as, to us anyway, the ships are spacious and open and feel pretty much like a little, floating, city...!!!!!!!:)

A pic (that I’ve posted before from our July of ‘18 cruise) of the moon over the Caribbean that I took at 4:36a...!!!!!!!!

Funny thing is, I actually didn’t do a lot of sleeping during either cruise, and the dear Lord knows I tried. But, although I was very relaxed, I was also energized about it all at the same time. Just such great, relaxin’ cruisin’ in every way...!!!!!!! :joyfull:
Can’t wait for our October cruise...!!!!!!!
He thought there were just too many people and felt like he couldn’t get away from them. Like the pool was a nightmare. He loved Castaway Cay because he felt he could breathe again. I will say he hated the dining set up on DCL. He would have preferred a buffet for each meal.

Since you never used the code before, you may be able to use it next time.

Good to know and I will try it, if I need to order online again. My only hesitation was that the code referenced "first time customer" only. But heck, I'll still give it a try, if I order again.

By the way, everything was really fresh (veggies, berries, dairy, etc.). I'm munching on chocolate chip mini-muffins now. Yum!

So I got stuck in a rip current.

I was out snorkeling in the lagoon at Aulani in an area that's normally fine when I got pulled out all of the sudden. I was busy looking at fish (there were a lot) when I realized I wasn't where I was supposed to be. Started getting pulled out to sea. Thankfully, I was near some rocks, so I swam diagonally towards the rocks and was able to pull myself out.

Anyway, good to know my parents got their money's worth out of the nine years of swim lessons.
Oh you are lucky. I was always taught to swim parallel to the shore if that ever happened. But as I have saidbpreviously, you would never catch me that far out in the ocean as I got the bejesus scared out of me when I was taken to see Jaws at age 5. :cautious:

The fact that its now different resorts and they are all tourists... Makes you wonder if ONLY the food that tourists eat was tainted.. or worse.. poisoned o_O

I recall you mentioned (some time ago) about cheap, (unsafe) liquor (masquerading as a legitimate liquor brand), that was creeping into some resort area in Mexico. When I heard about the DR issues, that was one of the first things that popped into my mind--I had wondered if there might be some sort of questionable liquor situation going on down there as well.

@21stamps , stay the heck away from there, until this situation gets resolved. :jawdrop:

OK... I may be totally late on this as I've been off the week, but our saying here is, "beans beans the magical fruit, the more you eat the more you toot, the more you toot the better you feel, and that's what makes beans so ideal."

And the version I heard as a kid was slightly different from the various versions people have posted so far. "Beans, beans, the musical fruit. The more you eat, the more you toot. The more you toot the better you fell. Now you're ready for another meal." (Seems like the majority of the variations occur in the last sentence.)
