The tattoo is ok.. but I chose bad placement (back of neck)... what was I thinking?

That sounds.... painful. Mine is bigger than I should have gone for my first go around, but it's on my side so I can hide it whenever I want. Most people don't even know I have it until we go swimming together or something. I even forget it's there a lot, which is ridiculous because it basically covers my entire side, LOL

I didn't get my first tattoo until I was 40 (and my last, I regretted it) and my dad STILL gave me THE LOOK.
Neither of my adult children have tattoos and neither went the piercing direction. I wasnt tattooed nor is their Dad.

Growing up where I did and in that era very few did. Young Army guys usually a girl or Mom name on upper arm. Gang Member Logos. The first of the
T-ramp stamps that THEN took on a whole new meaning way back and some motorcycle clubs. It was just a tiny demographic here. And times change. Me just never the desire or so far my kids either. Certainly is a to each their own choice.

That's the way my parents are. No one in my family over the age of 40 has tattoos. I personally don't like the look of most of them. With the exception of one of my team members. She has a tattoo of a puzzle piece with her daughter's initials on her wrist. It's meant to be an autism advocacy thing since her daughter is on the spectrum (every child is a piece of the autism puzzle). I think it's tasteful. But again, not something I'd choose for myself.

I’ll ask my DD when she is here. I believe she said hers closed also. Age 9 when she had hers pierced. She has issues with metal too. It’s been over 10 years since she has worn earrings. No desire given the problems they bring us.
I have the same issue. I take mine out at night or if I need to wear them longer, do hypoallergenic (Claire's has them) or Sterling silver.

Interestingly, the only rings that are comfortable for me are also Sterling silver.

And FYI my Dad said no to ears pierced. It was a differnt era. Very few of the woman born in the US from my Moms generation (84) or before had pierced ears.

My Dad was firm with that. Reasoning only ‘displaced’ women had pierced ears. His mother immigrated when she was an adult teen after WW1
The women in their migrant circle closed the holes up cause they didn’t want to be identified as immigrants by tags in their ears for all to see. Different times. So when my Mom and I had our ears pierced together when I was in 8th grade he was really really ticked off. Lol.
It's funny how things change. My grandma has her ears pierced, and I believe my maternal grandmother did as well. My mom was fairly young having hers done; I'd have to ask.

Of course, my grandparents were not conservative. From what I understand, they were basically the caste of Grease.

Well the concert was great.... rumor confirmed, Debbie Gibson sounds like crud... Tiffany didn't get to sing enough songs... I think she just got 3 or 4. Naughty by nature only had 2 popular songs, and they weren't amazing LOL Salt and Pepa was great...I think they sang about 6 hits... who knew they had so many? New Kids on the Block was great... those guys are still going strong. If you ever liked their music and get a chance, youtube their new song, "80's baby".. it's actually all the above singers... and I'm addicted to it.

Feeling old today though, and missing my teenage years!

Some dude in front of us tried to smoke pot. We quickly got him shut down... it's not that kind of concert dude! It's legal here in Michigan in the privacy of your own home, so now we are accosted by it on the street sometimes. Just not my thing.

I would totally go and see that concert again... next time maybe a little closer up... I'll come back and attach the nosebleed seat picture from my phone.

Glad you, mostly, enjoyed the show...!!! ;):)
All those people/groups were past my time far enough to where I couldn’t even name one song from any of them off the top of my head... :cyclops:
The pot comment gave me a good chuckle though. The first concert I ever went to was Boston here in Austin back in 1978. The joint smoke haze and smell in that place was insane. I had a joint passed to me several times and just passed it on without takin’ a hit ‘cause I was buzzed enough from all the second-hand contact smoke...!!!!! 🥴:hilarious:
Awesome show, but, I’ve never been a fan of smokin’ the “evil weed” either...!!!:D;):)

I've been off this thread all day. Just popping in now. Did anyone mention that today is Flag Day?View attachment 381358
I went down to Island Heights so my daughter could walk the boardwalk with her friend. It is soooo windy here....and the place is mobbed with teenagers all dressed up for their 8th grade formal dance. Naturally it wouldn't be appropriate to post photos so you'll just have to use your imaginations.😉

Between the lift kit and tires that has to be a horrible ride. I don’t understand it.

I’ll try to find a photo I took a year or so ago, most obnoxious truck ever.. I literally pulled over to take the pic.

Yep, there are so many trucks like that here it’s pretty much something that I don’t really pay that much attention to anymore. It’s just too common.
And yes, there are so many more outrageous ones than what I posted...!!!!! :hilarious:
But, today this one just really cracked me up, and I forgot to mention the sewer pipe-sized lookin’ talepipe...what’s up with that...?!?!?! :joyfull:🤪:hilarious:

If it is a big tattoo with a lot of color done well, it can cost as much as a solo trip. Crazy I know. I priced it today.
I have a friend in the business so the last time I though about getting one it would have been done for cost. I chickened out but got my cartilage pierced including the earring in exchange for a bottle of olive oil, runs and hides under boulder

Yikes and in my neighborhood most girls got their ears done as babies.

Blurg. I think that was generational. Both my parents had various things we were not to do. 20th century thinking of do as I say reasoning. No discussions on some topics.

My kids were competitive swimmers. My sons friends bleached their hair every year before Conference white blonde. None of the Grandparents were happy with me for allowing. Throwing a Mom Card would have been a useless waste on hair that would grow out in a few weeks. Every so often you must throw a Mom Card but I always saved them for meaningful needs.
James has beautiful red hair and wanted to bleach and dye it blue in middle school. I played the mom card. Now he'd just get stink eye and laughing for a couple of weeks
