I remember Kelly Ripa sharing over a long period of time the removal process with her audience step by step. Ouch.
Yeah. Not that I have anything against people who get tattoos, but it's not something I'd choose for myself. Only body alteration I've had is my ears pierced, and if I woke up one day and decided I hated it, I could just let them close up.

Don't know why I suddenly imagined that "If I had one" meme from Fairy Odd Parents..

"Here is where my gift for my father would be.. if he was STILL HERE WITH ME"

And FYI my Dad said no to ears pierced. It was a differnt era. Very few of the woman born in the US from my Moms generation (84) or before had pierced ears.

My Dad was firm with that. Reasoning only ‘displaced’ women had pierced ears. His mother immigrated when she was an adult teen after WW1
The women in their migrant circle closed the holes up cause they didn’t want to be identified as immigrants by tags in their ears for all to see. Different times. So when my Mom and I had our ears pierced together when I was in 8th grade he was really really ticked off. Lol.

How’d the extermination go?

Well, on Wednesday, neighbor A told us the tent came down around 6pm.

On the way to Key West dinner, we set the alarm (remotely, obvi) and at 8:23 (at the restaurant) neighbor B called Brian to say our alarm was going off and the police were going through the house.

The termite people had come back for follow-up. (Oops!)

When we got home yesterday, all the windows were closed and there were signs in each door noting it was safe for humans to enter.

I’m avoiding. Running errands. Need to go to 2 box stores. Don’t want to.

I’m avoiding everything. But I really need to get started, and will pay for it in traffic lol.

I am getting close to having full sleeves on one arm and the other is making it's way. Nothing against not having them either , lol but it is definitely to each to their own.

And my parents were also part of that era. When I got my second hole for ear piercings back in high school, I had to hide it from my dad. He kicked my brother out of the house for two weeks for him getting his eyebrow pierced.

When I left, I was finally able to get tattoos and more piercings. To me, it's wearing my favorite pieces of art that have meaning. Short story: when I got my first tattoo, I posted it to Facebook. My mom didn't talk with me for two weeks.

Blurg. I think that was generational. Both my parents had various things we were not to do. 20th century thinking of do as I say reasoning. No discussions on some topics.

My kids were competitive swimmers. My sons friends bleached their hair every year before Conference white blonde. None of the Grandparents were happy with me for allowing. Throwing a Mom Card would have been a useless waste on hair that would grow out in a few weeks. Every so often you must throw a Mom Card but I always saved them for meaningful needs.

This actually doesn't usually work that way, lol. I have had my ears pierced since I was about 8 months old, and I can go a year and a half without wearing earrings and then pop a pair right in there. The holes never close. And when I was a teenager I had my belly button pierced, and even though I haven't worn jewelry in that for like... two decades lol... it still has a hole where I could "re-pierce" easily.

But instead of a large piece of artwork, it's just a small hole, so your point still stands. I just thought I'd add my two cents.

I didn't get my first tattoo until I was 40 (and my last, I regretted it) and my dad STILL gave me THE LOOK.

I had mine done when I was.three. If I go a few weeks without, they'll start to close up in my case.

I got mine about two weeks before I deployed to Iraq. It didn't look the way I wanted it to but I didn't have time to fix it before I left. I got it refinished the year before last though and I like it much better now. I wish I had decided to get another one before the stroke. I had planned on balancing it out with a small one on my left forearm, but I don't think I can do that without clenching my neck LOL. Luckily I got the one I have refinished before the stroke.

I can see where my hole was in one ear and not the other. They are closed. I doubt anyone would notice. My ears seem to reject earrings. I just let it go.

No tattoos on me or dh. I personally don't care for them or want any of our kids to ever get one. I don't care if anyone else does though.
One of my sil's got one with her friends from high school about 10 years ago. It was a best friends tattoo party. They all got the same one. Well, they aren't really friends anymore.

I’ll ask my DD when she is here. I believe she said hers closed also. Age 9 when she had hers pierced. She has issues with metal too. It’s been over 10 years since she has worn earrings. No desire given the problems they bring us.

The tattoo is ok.. but I chose bad placement (back of neck)... what was I thinking?
