THREE diving boards?! Yup, I'm jealous!

Hahaaa...!!!
Yes, but if you look close, you’ll notice the low board on the right has a blue cone on it because of the 2 swim lanes directly in front of it.
The other pool in our neighborhood also has a high board, but, just 1 low board. Although also a family pool (sans the kiddo splash area), that’s where all the competitions are held...!!! :)

Oh ok. I see you answered @Cesar R M . Still catching up on here from my vacation. CF was with a VIP group. DH actually loved both Corey's and I think is the only person alive to like the movie License to Drive. He wished he would have caught his face 3 seconds earlier so he could have at least yelled out "Hi."

Too bad y’all weren’t at least able to say hi, and maybe even get a pic of him/with him or somethin’!!!
I have only ever seen Lucas and The Goonies on TV. The two Corey’s and the rest were a bit after my time. I could more easily relate to the actors in, say, Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Even though I was about 2 months away from turning 20 when that flick came out (and had graduated HS when I was 17), most of the actors are my age or older...
Sean Penn is 58, Phoebe Cates is 55, Jennifer Jason Leigh is 57, Judge Reinhold is 62, Forest Whitaker is 57, Nicholas Cage is 55, and even the guy that played Mike Damone (Robert Romanus) will be 63 in July...!!!!!!! :eek:o_O;):)

I actually like tofu! Especially as part of an Asian stir-fry, etc. It just has to be seasoned properly. General Tso’s tofu is very good, and I have to think less processed than newer “fake meats” (that have better consistency.)

Then again, I get High cholesterol from breathing and blinking, so I’d better like it.

Doctor just gave me 12 pills - take one a week to lower cholesterol and get retested in August. I haven’t taken any. Going to try zero animal products and alcohol for the three weeks before the test (and less than usual- which is already low - for the whole time) plus I’ve already been back on my workout schedule for about 6 or 8 weeks and seeing results. That’s supposed to help.

I don’t eat it super often, but, I have yet to meet tofu that I didn’t like how it was prepared...!!!!! :hungry:

As far as the cholesterol goes, mine usually runs about 220-ish, but, no doc I’ve ever had has been too concerned because, even though the total is above 200, my good cholesterol number is always much higher than my bad cholesterol number.
Back when I was 35 and decided to lose a bunch of weight by eating better and exercising, I had my doc call me at my office after some bloodwork...had never had that happen before, so I was convinced he would be asking me to come to his office to deliver some not-so-good news.
Turns out he just wanted to congratulate me on all my great (even my cholesterol was an all-time low of 123) blood work numbers...!!!!! :hilarious:

Anyhoo, good luck and I hope you can find a formula soon that works for you...!!! :)

I have not. Fit For Life, years ago. My diet can vary from year to year, but miles ahead of the average “meat and potatoes” and fast food diet. (That’s one reason I so look forward to eating whatever I want at Disney.)

No caffeine, very little processed sugar, only olive oil, rarely any red meat, rarely any cheese except mozzarella on pizza, lots of fruit, lots of veg, zero milk/butter. I was vegan + fish for a number of years. Added chicken and turkey back in a few years ago, cholesterol didn’t budge (stayed high but didn’t go higher.) It’s very hereditary with me. Dad died of a heart attack at 45. I’ll be 48 in 3 months. He smoked, ate fast food for lunch every day, overweight, no exercise, etc.

So sorry about your pop. :(
But, it sounds like you’re doing your best to dial in what works best for you...!!! :)

What she said @Tony the Tigger Plus the book “How to Reverse Heart Disease” by Dr. Esselstyn. Basically a fat free vegan diet.

That one reminds me of this book that came out in ‘95...!!! :)

I HATE TRYOUTS!!!

I hate, hate, hate this week of the year! Everything T has done the past 9 months, all of the confidence he appeared to have gained, it doesn’t show on a tryout field!! :(

I am so heartbroken for him. He was so excited on the way there, on the days leading up to today, he had not shown one but of doubt in himself. I don’t understand it!!
Next up is Thursday. 62 kids registered.

Please send good thoughts or prayers his way... I’m praying that he finds the confidence within himself.

So I really need to vent about getting older! Just had my annual eye exam. I only wear glasses for up close work like reading, puzzles, computer, phone, etc. You get the picture. Well, I had some floaters back in Dec that were in my left eye that occurred after some flashes of light. I ran to see one of the doctors, and she couldn't find anything wrong. Ok I have had floaters before so I can deal with them.
Well, my left eye has been bothering me a bit the last several weeks when I read. So, today he said my left eye was 3x worse than last year. Grrr... a new prescription so I can see better, new glasses. Then, I had to go through a baseline scan of my optic nerves to see if there is damage. I will hear from the nurse to see what showed up. It seems like the older you get, there is something else to have to worry about. Ok vent over. :banghead:

I’ve had floaters for years and still only use drugstore cheaters (2.50) for reading, computer and drafting table work at the office, etc. My medium and far vision are, fortunately (knock on my wood head ;)), still 20/20.
Several years back a blind spot (not dark, just void) occurred in my left eye out of the blue.
I could see my wife looking straight at her, but, not youngest DD standing right next to her. I thought I might be having stroke symptoms so they drove me to the ER.
They ran umpteen tests and found nothing stroke, or otherwise, related...all while shortly after showing up my eyesight slowly returned to normal.
The ER doc recommended I see an ophthalmologist. I did, and when I described it all to her, she told me to wait and went and got a book...Ocular Migraine, IIRC. She told me not to worry about it, but, I’ve read otherwise in recent years.
Fortunately, it has only happened a few short times since, and with less intensity, and I’ve not noticed any degradation in my vision.

Sorry about the left eye getting worse, and, hopefully, there is no optic nerve damage...prayers, well-wishes, and best of luck...!!! :)

I ordered them.. I got a receipt emailed, but nope, they still aren't showing up in my experience. I'll give them until July to get it sorted, and then I'll start calling several times a week.
@93boomer And today’s MB saga continued is they will try it again when the stock inventory is replenished at a much higher capacity. Not that anyone is happy about the fiascos but for the moment I’d rather have them in my cart then be fulfilled like many with $10 charge for plain ones substituted or others that ordered and received a differ special band than they ordered.

This went sideways quickly. I have 2 MB coming. If I upgrade like I had planned to I’m waiting until Disney acknowledges they are up and running again.

If it makes you feel any better, my Brian got a bleed in his better eye about two months ago. That instantly made him mostly blind. After two needles in the eye that didn't help, he just had a vitrectomy (surgery) on that eye a week ago. He's currently laying face-down 23 hours a day and still can't see much. Second follow-up visit with the surgeon is tomorrow.

There's a gas bubble in the eye that takes weeks to dissipate, so we won't really know if the surgery worked until that happens. He can see some light now, so that is promising. Believe it or not, I drove him to a job interview today. The man does not stop.

A friend loaned us a massage table (with the hole in it to put your face) and a matching chair. I put a small flat screen TV under his face, and he can watch enough to make out shapes and some detail (mainly from the other eye, which was already bad.)

We were supposed to go up to WDW on Friday just for the Illuminations dining package at Rose & Crown, but that's looking extremely unlikely. I'm waiting until after the doc appt tomorrow to cancel (tomorrow is the last day to cancel and still get a refund.)

Not much point taking him to see Illuminations if he can't see it!

Overall, I'm hopeful - this procedure has a high success rate. We'll see how it goes.

All the sincerest prayers and well-wishes that can be spared for him, and yourself, right now.
Hope the success rate is even more successful for him...!!! :)

I hope you receive all good news. Ahhh our AARP years.

I wear biofocals all the time now. I only need them to read but once I hit the 2.5 magnified I had a difficult time reading things like expiration dates and prices on clothing labels etc with out having my magnifiers. So my bifocals also are clear eye glasses minus the reading portion I require. Now they just stay on my face instead of top of head, on my shirt or pocket. I don’t miss that on and off process even though my distance vision is perfect. My insurance pays for my glasses and ophthalmologist so glasses and preventative screenings it is.

I go to an ophthalmologist vs an optometrist. My Mom has macular degeneration. It started with floaters. Then she had blind spots that came and went. Then the blind spots started to stay once she hit 60. Ultimately the peripheral blind spots just off center stuck. She had shots to the eye every 4 months for several years and ultimately went into remission for 3 years. It did enough damage that she hasn’t been able to drive at night for years. It started again this year so in a few weeks she will get another shot in one eye that is acting up again hopefully to shove it back into remission. So having eyes checked by an ophthalmologist annually is my go to cause once the damage is done most is not reversible but can be sent to remission.

Sure hope the news is positive when you get the results soon. Pixie dust.

The only problem at AK lodge is that the pool opens at 9 (fenced in). A problem when you run in the morning and have an hour to kill. But the pool was pretty much and everyday thing due to going to the parks later on in the day. MK was super crowded everyday we went. The kind of crowds were you hate people. It is really sad how people are waiting night parade style, 2 hours before the fireworks (which twice I did not bother to stay and see)

The Plaza was for dinner. I had a good meal (Lobster Salad but they failed to put the egg in) but my sisters meals was blah. Bacon was way undercooked. My favorite sit down meal was Liberty Tree. Went for lunch and it was good timing due to a monsoon. Lobster Poached Egg hamburger, messy, huge but so good. I had Citrus Swirl 3 times :hungry:. We also went to the Grand Cafe for dinner. I had a lobster burger (only had 2 burgers but that was enough). Pales in comparison to my first. Coming back to the MK, they only had 3 lines open so that took time. You think they would have more lines open. Another food place was the Poly fast food place. I had seafood pizza,, which was good but I wished they cooked the crust more.

Oh there was a theme park. Crowds and hot. I also don't like how Disney does some lines (aka Haunted Mansion after you come out of the room). Otherwise it was the same typical MK. Still horrible at Buzz Lightyear. Saw about a dozen cast members take out the cars.

MK is not the best for snacks and food. There's is a whole donut maddness going on too. I think the quality of the foods have gone downhill overall in the parks. Once again, it was tough for my to get a drink around the parks. Stupid soda and Dasani.

I agree. They wrecked the once beautiful Hub with forced perspective and trees to FIX the Hub. IMO it solved nothing. Still a Sea if Humans. Still difficult to navigate to just pass through. I find myself still exiting via the Emporium.

And it is disappointing that AK doesn’t have a quiet pool. Upside it has one of the best lounges and Quick services on property. The hotel is beautiful. Me, I find the rooms a tad dark for my liking similar to the former Coronado dark decor.

@Gabe1 I believe it's this one

There's a lot of similar ones on Amazon. Usually, when I sprain mine, I put it on as soon as I do it. Then I keep it on for 1-2 weeks or until I start finding it annoying. I usually wear sneakers or flip flops if I'm just running an errand or if I'm tired of sneakers. Put it on with a pair of jeans and no one suspects a thing.
I’m going to give it a try. Thank you!

Yah, waiting 2 hours for a parade is too long. I get how people want a good spot, but to each his/her own, I guess. Not for me! :jawdrop:

MK has never been great for snacks and food, compared to the other parks. (However, your TS at Liberty Tree sounded very good, and the pictures backed that up.) For me, it's not a big deal though. Reason is that I go to MK for the fun, not the food. Perhaps I should have higher standards, but I don't. Another thing is that I park hop a lot--I go to at least 2 parks a day when I'm down there. So if I want better food, better variety, etc., I'll often end up over in EPCOT at some point during the day, for that. :hungry:

I did hear recently about the donut craze. Meh. Depends on how hungry I am, and the time of day as well. Also, if it was as hot as you mentioned, I don't like eating heavy snacks like donuts, etc.

Thank you sir. You were an inspiration.

Disney has made this problem by making the fireworks a projection/fireworks show. If you want the full shebang then you have to be in the hub/main street.

Few years ago I had something odd with bizarre flashes (intermittent) in both eyes. Saw a specialist, and he basically said it was something like having a migraine, but without any pain, (such as a regular migraine would have). It was a neurological thing going on. Hasn't reoccurred for well over a year at this point.
