Old age syndrome: little more fat retained. Happens to the best of us. ;) But, mostly likely it's nothing to fret about. If you're not hot, (and therefore you haven't swelled up from heat), then just use a little bit of hand cream and it will slide right off your finger. I have a ring that's tight, so I just wear it on my little finger now! :joyfull:

P.S.: Learned the hand cream trick from some colleagues who work in emergency medicine.
No need for cream. If I just wait 15 minutes after coming inside the house it comes off ok. At 57 I don't want any syndromes. 😀

Did this ever happen to you or someone you know?.......

When I arrive home from being out anywhere, I take off my wedding band, pull out my wallet and keys....all three items go in a "special" cabinet in the kitchen.
Yet the last three days my wedding band won't come off right away. I have to wait 15 minutes or longer after being inside and then I can get it off. I haven't gained weight. My weight is stable.
Thoughts on that anyone?

The weather is changing, getting warmer... my rings are always more loose in the winter... when you get in the house maybe the climate control makes your fingers go back to normal? or... have you drank more fizzy drinks than usual the last few days? Pop makes my fingers swell.

So last night, I was watching videos on how to use the Cricut machine and a tornado warning message came up on the scream. I went downstairs and dh and the kids were watching local weather. That got interrupted by a gray screen with tornado warning and seek shelter now. So I went with the kids in the stairway of the basement. Poor littlest one was crying. Luckily it had just been tornadic activity and no actual touchdown. I couldn’t imagine actually living in tornado alley after that.

We haven’t had a warning yet this year, but, this is usually about the time it starts.
We had at least 2 hook echos on different days heading our way last year, but, they broke up before they got to us, even though there was some minimal damage down the road from a brief touchdown by one small tornado produced by one of those.
Like y’all, and as I’ve posted before, it’s believed our hills break most of it up before it can get too serious around here. Even so, the warnings are never any fun.

We had the same thing going on here, but, the worst part was trying to watch TV and have it continuously be interrupted by the announcements. It ended up with no tornado's, about four drops of rain and just barely enough wind to blow out a match. Some places did get hit pretty hard and it is my hope that everyone came through it alright.

Yep, but, the one time they don’t get overly cautious and some area gets pounded saying they had no warning from local authorities, someone’s gonna’ want butts on plates.
Unfortunately, they’re damned if they do and damned if they don’t.
As “they” say, better safe than sorry...! ;)

Oh, I agree, but, they overdo it. They put a put a big block message over the entire screen and shut down everything that is being broadcast and it just sits there quiet for 10 minutes. It goes off for another 10 minutes and the show resumes and it starts all over again. They also have a warming the is extremely loud beeping, then a voice comes on and give a verbal warning that actually is helpful and they don't override the picture and take forever to resume normal broadcasting.

It has been warm and humid. My house is more comfortable climate-wise. Thank you for being interested.
Maybe that could be the issue? metal expands , so its gets hotter outside, you get to a cold or temperate area.. and it shrinks?

The other way is the hotter it is, the more your skin expands to allow your pores to dissipate via sweat. And thus swelling.
No expert, just educated guessing.

It's been rainy in NJ. It could be the humidity outside that does it. Even so, I'm gonna try to limit my salt. Even if it has nothing to do with the ring tightness, it is just a good idea for general health reasons :)

I love the grand doggie! :joyfull: That's a nice new toy--no wonder he liked it. If I gave a toy like that to my dog, he'd tear it apart in less than half an hour. :cautious: He never learned to play nice.

My Shepard, both goldens loved their stuffed toys and each attached more to a specific one. Walt ignored them. He preferred tennis balls at least in his younger days. He was given several LARGE stuffed animals and he'd use them as beds. Those plastic, cheap latex bounce balls about 12 inches you find in bins at box & grocery stores-Walt would see one and pop it....walk away.

Interesting, in the fact that you take your wedding band off when you get home from anywhere. No right or wrong, just never heard of that before.
Mine stays on almost completely 24/7, whether I’m at the office, working in the yard, working on a car, overnight, etc.
I will take it off if there’s an itch under it, and spinning it on my finger or rocking it back and forth on my finger doesn’t work, to scratch it.
And, that’s definitely a little more difficult during warmer months, but, it still comes off with just a bit of twisting and turning.
Not sure why that would be happening to you so suddenly.

If you spray just a little bit of Windex or similar brand of window cleaner right on finger/ring. It should slide right off and the ring is cleaner, the bonus.

I'd like to now know the back story as to why the ring goes into a kitchen cabinet as soon as you come home.

I do not have any useful medical advice for you beyond salt, Easter tends to be a Salty holiday of traditional foods. Drinks some additional water and maybe that will help flush some out. Maybe.
