Saw some talk back there while skimming about how long we keep our cell phones before getting new ones.
Went back to my first photos for dates, and I’ve had my current iPhone 6s since Dec. 23, 2015.
The only reason I would want to upgrade is for a better camera and more storage. Otherwise, I love my phone...!!!!! :inlove: ;):)

Also, while searching back through those first photos, I found this pic of our kiddos in Epcot the day we did the Princess 5K in Feb. of ‘16...!!!!!!!

Just chiming in but I like hemp and sesame seeds:hungry:

Thank you. She thought sesame seeds might get stuck in her teeth while out and about. She runs hypoglycemic when her tummy is empty so she was looking for things that would stabilizer her while out. Thus the tiny bags.

Hemp ? Dear Lord you guys keep bringing me back to Gilmore Girls. Jess on Beach with his estranged father talking about having to sell Hemp Hats on a California Beach.

You guys are going to make me pull up Gilmore Girls on Netflix to binge watch again. Been a while.

That is where the convention is.... but even a year out, it was sold out..... and when a room does pop up it's $200 a night...yikes. I booked the best western almost a year ago... for $100 a night... and it has good reviews on tripadvisor, so we are going with that. I know one night we are driving to schaumburg because cheesecake factory! We don't have one here (yet) They just announced one is opening here in October... god save my soul.

My DD picks Cheese Cake factory frequently for celebrations. We all love it. I love their Kobe Burger and their Jambalaya. Plus you can walk Woodfield and buy some Garrett popcorn. What month is the convention?

$200 a night isn't bad if it is their tower, the garden wing type of rooms, well we switched rooms. There are also loft rooms where you have a living room area downstairs and a bedroom upstairs in a loft looking over the great room. All I can remember is my son about 8 years old then dropping GI Joes off the railing onto the sleeper sofa below. They have nice indoor/outdoor pools and a quaint retro brick walkway street of yesteryear similar to the one in the Science and Industry in downtown Chicago. They have put some money into Pheasant Run since I've stayed there. We use to visit there about once a summer when my kids were little for weekend getaways. While I was there for a convention I stayed in the Tower and if you do stalk and it becomes available like on priceline make sure it is the Tower.

I haven't been to Cheesecake Factory in years. In case you wanted to try it, Chuy's is right in an outlet as you go in. Kinfolk is supposed to be good, but I haven't tried it. If you are into kebabs and pita, my boys really like Naf Naf Grill. Mod Pizza. Oh, across the way, if you like crazy burgers, Kumas Corner. Mac and Cheese is insane, too. I think @Gabe1 eats around the mall area more than I do.

I do. The Schaumburg area has the best food spots. @Rista1313 I wholeheartedly agree if youre in the area again try Kumas Corner. They were rated in the top five for Burgers in all of Chicagoland, just know it is LOUD in there vs Cheesecake Factory.

And FYI @MouseDreaming Kinfolk was really good but they have gone out of business, noticed that last week.

When an employer sees that a person has the persistence to get that degree, that means something. It also implies one can read, process, and write actual sentences. That, in addition to all those crazy classes, gives a person a well rounded base.

A big part of college are the connections you make. For some that may be a fraternity/sorority, a certain school, a friend, a professor who knows someone. A big part of the college experience is internships. Real, working knowledge of what goes on outside of the textbook.

Agree with much of this, regarding present times.
But, I was more than able to read, process, write, and speak actual sentences long before I graduated from HS.
As far as real-world experience goes, I’ve already posted about how we were already earning money for our drafting class competition trips by drafting actual, buildable construction documents for a local builder when I was still in my junior year of HS.
I believe most college is more of a business than actual value for what it’s worth these days. Vocational HS education, as it existed back in my day, has been supplanted by the “everyone needs a college degree!!!” Bravo Sierra. Life isn’t that simple for everyone in a dynamic society...that needs plumbers, A/C techs, electricians, etc.
I’ve worked with sooo many, as I refer to them, “Frank Lloyd Wright Jr.s” fresh out of college over the years that were gone in a few weeks or less from the firm that I can’t even remember them all. Somehow, they thought they were gonna’ teach us all what was what when we’d already been in the “actual” business for years.
Some tenured college architecture prof that has never designed anything that was actually built in real life, messed ‘em up.
I’m not necessarily saying college is a bad thing, but, so much of it is prerequisite this, and prerequisite that, and your required to take this and that’ll be another $$$. Just, buyer beware, for what education your gonna’ get.
Again, I’m the only person out of 30 people in my firm that doesn’t have a college degree of any kind (not even a crayon one I tried to write up myself 🤪;)

Jackson, Wyoming....huge tourist trap and the cost of living there is insane!! A lot of celebrities end up getting homes there because they can actually afford it, and outside of the tourist season, it's pretty quiet and private.

Wow! Who would think. Kinda like the sports figures that home address is Florida for lack of state taxes.
