Feel your pain. 65 mph wind and dropping temp to single digits this evening. Downspouts gone. Bath roof vent has a new shape. Bathroom leaves and tiny sticks this morning all over as it blew in through the ducts and out fan. Who expects to step on sticks on floor first thing in morning?

Joy Joy. 😕

A. Choose more personalized service and more amenities and activities.

Or

B. Ocean view room.

It’s so crazy that I can’t both at once, when traveling with a child!!
I'd go for more amenities and activities, BUT, disclaimer...I am not a beach girl. I HATE the feeling of sand on my feet, I can't just lie on a beach all day, and I can't take the heat. I need to be doing something, and I need to be inside a lot. But, how much would you be sitting in your room looking out at the ocean? If that's what you want to do on vacation, then you should book for the ocean view. If you won't spend much time in the room, then it's a waste of money to pay for that view.

I should clarify that all 4 resorts do have a lot of activities, 3 of them more family focused options than the other., and mostly the difference in vip service.. I really want a rose petal bath drawn for me, and fresh flowers and fruit in the room daily. Little things, but something that sounds great to me.. where I might actually be able to completely relax.
I just don’t like what the rooms themselves look like.. not the inside, but the outside space is your standard balcony or lanai with 2 chairs and a small table. I want a jacuzzi and Bali bed while looking at the ocean! 😂
Unfortunately you can’t have both if have children in your party. :(

I think the rest might be worth it.. just disappointing. We’re canceling an aft balcony on a cruise.. and now won’t have a view of the ocean at all.

When I mention heat and humidity this summer it will be with lots of cheer behind it.:) We've had over 30 inches of snow this month, and oh yeah we are in a blizzard warning tonight with 6-12 more inches possible. I'm so ready to move, hubs on the other hand still is not.:cold:
I had the following conversation with my mom upon getting off the plane from FL, where it was 80 degrees, at MD, where it was 20.

Me: Why is it this cold?
Mom: It's winter
Me: And why do we live here?
Mom: We love the changing seasons.
Me: Speak for yourself.

Hey everyone. So, the older I get, the more tests my doctor is making me get. So far, I’ve had the dreaded colonoscopy, the stress test for heart, echocardiogram, and on Friday, I have to have an upper endoscopy, where they apparently knock you out and then stick a tube with a camera on it down your throat to look around. I think this is unnecessary. If he would just ask, I’d tell the doc what’s down there: 300 cases of wine. 😜

But seriously, has anyone had this procedure done and know what to expect?

I almost want to cancel because I found out that my health insurance won’t cover this because it is diagnostic and not preventative, and I have a $2,000 deductible to meet. Grrrrr.

Sorry, have not had that particular procedure...yet...! ;)
But, when I went to schedule a doc recommended MRI on my back about 1.5 yrs. ago they told me it was gonna’ cost me just shy of 2K OOP...!!!!! :cyclops: I asked them to take a closer look, ‘cause it should be covered at 100% ‘cause the doc requested it. Sure enough, fortunately 100% covered. Found out I have a bulging disk and a benign cyst in my spine, which lead to numbness in my feet (especially my left foot), which is what lead me to visit the bone doc in the first place...! ;)
Have already had 2 colonoscopies and 2 heart stress tests, as well as at least 2 echos. And, after my mid-January SVT heart event fun, and subsequent cardiologist visit, he has ordered another heart stress test, and also the calcium (plumbing) heart screening. All 100% covered.
Maybe there is a way the doc can write it up for you so that it is condidered a preventative test for you as opposed diagnostic.
Just a thought.
Anyway, best of luck either way...!!! :)

Sounds like a nice place. To me the balcony looks fine for a beach resort. Sure an ocean view is better but the chairs look comfy. I would only be using the balcony to have a morning coffee and to relax a bit before dinner and bed so that is why it looks fine to me. And it looks like there are some palm trees, I wouldn't mind just looking at them.

That sounds like the conversation I have with my husband. :cautious:;) Oh well, when spring and summer eventually come it will erase (partially) the memory of this winter and I will enjoy living here again....until next winter.

I haven't had any of those but it seems like a lot of tests if there isn't a problem. Did you doctor give you a concrete reason for this endoscopy? Is there any way he can order it in a different way so insurance would pay for it? Just make sure it is necessary to your health before you get it done.

I’m so mad I can barely see straight. We just had the WORST ref ever!!! Multiple injuries to my players, luckily not serious, but including two players who could not return back in for the second half.
Then, T was GK, the kid from other team kept kicking while T had the ball.. ref did not call him off,. T got kicked in the shoulder as a result.
Worse, our next GK, “L” also was having the ball kicked while he had it.. this went on wayyy too long!! Twice they kicked it out of his hand and kept going after it.

Ref did NOTHING. Myself and my assistant coach were both screaming at him to stop it.

Then of course our kid got hurt, kicked in the hand., I ran on the field and up to the ref. I’m surprised I didn’t get a yellow or red card.

I just emailed the facility now.. they need to know, and they need to talk to the refs and not let this happen to another team!!

That team was rough, I get that some team are more rough than others.. shoves are one thing, he didn’t call most of those either.. but a ref not calling off from a goalie is something that I’ve never seen.

Just got a call from my school district, we are closed tomorrow. We are still under blizzard conditions until around midnight and no plows are going out on the roads in our county until 4 am tomorrow. :(:grumpy: I only live a couple blocks from school, so I think I'll still go in and do some of the make up hours I have to do. I have never been so honestly unhappy to have so many school closures in my life! We haven't had a fully week of school since the first full week of January and we are in the 5th week of the quarter. I'm getting so behind on my lesson track. Sorry, rant over....

Wow, that is impressive to even attempt. My limit is usually a 1000 pieces.

I had to stay in the Netherlands a bit longer then planned because of my mother's health which also meant I couldn't work. Luckily I am now back in London living in my little shoebox and working again.

The like is for being back where you want to be again and working...!!! :)
How is your mothers health, if you don’t mind me asking? Well, I hope...!!! 👍
