I'll bet there's plenty of women who would enjoy your company. You always have interesting points to share in many different conversations here.

Have you tried a more relaxed approach with a woman that you might be interested in? Sometimes, it's easier to ask someone if they'd just like to meet for a cup of coffee some day. That takes a little pressure off both sides, and you can decide after that, if you want to ask her out on an actual date. (In my own situation, my hubby had to ask me three separate times, on different days, if I'd just go have a cup of coffee with him in a "public" place--ha! He knew I was very guarded, but he didn't give up. Finally, I caved. I figured he was either nuts or he just really liked me. So, I said, "O.k. I'll meet you for ONE cup of coffee." His patience paid off--we've been married for 20 years! And . . . all it took was a cup of coffee at Dunkin Donuts one lovely afternoon . . .) :)

Thanks for the advice. It was my plan to use that approach with a girl I liked at RUF (Presbyterian campus ministry) last semester. Even though I talked to her I never could manage to ask her if she wanted to meet for coffee one day on campus. Haven't seen her since.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
How is that even possible. Do you run a daycare on the side?
Forgot to add - there's a gallon of chocolate milk consumed every week also.

It's nothing for my boys to go through 2 bags (1/2 gallon) each in one sitting, just drinking glass after glass. Adopted son uses milk primarily in cereal, of which he eats quite a bit. And Hubby and I each usually have one large glass with dinner - when we eat at home that is.

Oh my. I hope the teacher won't continue to hold a grudge about the extra day, against your daughter. As you mentioned, the airline changed the flight times (which happens more often than it should). It wasn't intentional on your part. You've had this cruise planned for close to a year, if I'm not mistaken.

It is a myth leveling with school districts and to always tell the truth is what one should do. I highly recommend just calling 'em in sick, personal day or family emergency with no follow up information provided. Preferably on the school answering machine before the school day starts. Honesty isn't what it is cracked up to be.

Interesting how it abruptly stops. It looked pretty with the lamp lighting in the pictures before...I'd either fall in love with it or hate it. I've never seen anything like that before. My Uncle was a plaster dude and they did do some great art work in the walls and ceiling but nothing along those lines that I ever saw. Are homes in your neighborhood similar? That is an amazing mark in history up on those ceilings.

I also wondered why the two different surfaces weren't bordered/further accented with a nice plaster trim piece between them. But, although we can see the cabinet fur down on the right, we can't see how it terminates on the left...?

App - just one, and we switched it up so y'all don't get bored:

It's artistic because it's tilted. (That's only funny if you're a regular follower of Josh over at Easy....)

Three cheese spinach dip with pita crisps and nacho chips. Pretty good; although let's be honest, it's pretty hard to mess up spinach and cheese dip.
Bonus - it was still bubbling when brought to the table.

Every kettle has a lid, Eric. Don't rush it; it will happen when it is supposed to.
My SO and I didn't meet until we were both in our fifties. We lived 300 miles apart and started dating! For almost 4 years we saw each other EVERY week-end and holiday...I drove to him or he drove to me. Finally he moved to my town...that was nearly 15 years ago. It was worth every minute of driving :joyfull:

Aww, that's sweet. You're right though, I don't want to rush it. That can lead to a worse situation.

My DD is pretty quiet around people she doesn't know. She wanted a job as a head guard leaving high school and the only thing standing in the way of her getting the position was managements fear that she was too quiet for leadership skills and dealing with lifeguards along with patrons. My DD is a determined thing, she forced herself though the interview processes and stood her ground that summer before she went off to college.

Sometimes in life you need a big honk'n shove to get you over the hill. It lead her to management and trainer. When she was applying for jobs at various Universities after graduation, the University that hired her later told her that the recommendation that her boss gave got her the position. Funny how the little things like wanting to be a head guard and her having to get over her quiet reserved self paved a path for her future. Dating, careers, not that much different, just have to get your head around it and push forward and maybe a stick of heavy duty deodorant. ;)

seconding this. but then, there are some teachers who are "no excuses". regardless if the Armageddon is happening and the school is surrounded by a lava lake.
