She has excellent taste. Will the sewist be using French seams or pinking them?

Uhhhh. Actually my sil will be coming out this weekend because dh's bday (a big one. He is the same age as you), is Saturday. She will be managing the sewing. So whatever she decides.

Two other options are glue or staples. :p (My father would do his own clothing "repairs" to help out my mother. If he had a hole in a pocket, he'd staple it. He once glued a lapel that was starting to fray a bit. Both methods worked! :hilarious: )

I know what a bubbler is but I have never heard or used that term in real-life. I have seen stuff that says Wisconsin people say that but not on my side of the state. Must be a east-southeast side of the state thing. I guess I'm too close to Minnesota that I have mostly mostly their accent and terms, dontchya ya know. Ya you bet!

In school, we always referred to them as bubblers. Nowadays, they probably give the kids bottled spring water. ;)

Bubblers got there name because they were the type that had a large jug on top of them and when you took water out air "bubbled" up to fill up the space. They are still around, those big blue plastic (once they were glass) 5 plus gallon containers turned upside down and fed into the top of the cooler.

You know what I do like about working at home? I can knit at my desk, and my boss can't see me. (i'm out of work to do today)

I dont knit.. but I do draw cartoons when theres not much to do
so.. desk workers.. unite!

You're both an inspiration! If there's a random break in the workload for me, I like to play on the internet at my desk--I love looking up New Yorker cartoons, for example. They're so funny! If I'm in a more serious mood, I'll go to all the news sites like Reuters for international, or Bloomberg for finance. It's all good; I'm getting paid. :p

No work for me for the next 2 days, I got the text from the school district that school is off through Wednesday. Our Governor declared a state wide emergency because of the cold. On Wednesday it is supposed to have a wind chill of -53. Hubs and I were planning to go to a fund raiser at a British style pub tomorrow night, it is still on and hubs wants to go. I want to stay home but I also want to go too. I'm actually not so worried about the cold but more about the possible black ice on the roads.

Different parts of Wisconsin do speak differently than some other parts do. My mom did not grow up in South Eastern Wisconsin unlike My dad. She growing up calling soda "Pop". My mom had to learn to speak differently in some ways such as saying soda instead of "pop" when she moved to the South Eastern region of the state.

We say Pop here in Michigan. I'll never forget when I lived in NC, and asked for a coke, and the girl asked me what kind? HUH???

Nice... we are suppose to get that cold wind here Wednesday too. I'm planning on actually going into work tomorrow, and asking the boss for a work at home day again for Wednesday.

Emy is as adorable as ever. I used to love watching my kids have fun in those play mats. Tell them not to forget to put her on her tummy. Funny story. When we were in Jersey and only an hour from NYC, I had my oldest in modeling. Her first booking was at 6 months old. It was for Hasbro. They told me she was going to be a sleeping baby. Sure no problem. We come back a few days later for the shoot. They had about 5 other babies there. My kids turn comes up. It was for a toy called Tummy Time. You lay a baby on their tummies and they are supposed to try and touch things on the toy. Problem was, my baby hated being on her tummy. She was in tears in about 2 minutes. I went to the photgrapher and said that I thought they needed a sleeping baby. They said that they were using another kid for that. Well you should have told me that you were going to try and get her to be on her belly because I would have told you it wouldn’t work. She got paid for her time anyway and a few months later when this toy was out, a baby named Hayley was on the box. Never forgot that kids name. Never bought that toy eother. Dd did book a few other jobs until she was 13 months. Then she started crying at the auditions so we ended her stint in entertainment at that point.
Also, very cool about being related to royalty.

Thank you!!! :)
Funny-interesting story about your oldest...!!!
They put Emy on her tummy often, and we also have video from last Wednesday of her rolling from her back to her tummy!!! ;) :)

And yes, the royal thing is crazy-cool...in many ways, including the craziness that occurred with those families back then...although we’d all already learned about a lot of it in history class, from History Channel shows, etc., back then in that part of the world, we learned so much more from that program that was DWifeys pops side of the family-specific. William Wallace (Braveheart), Mary, Queen of Scots, etc., and even King James VI, who later later became King James I when he also became king of Ireland and England, and was responsible for the King James Bible, and it goes on.
Just amazing...!!!!! :geek:

When I was young they were called Grinders! But, Grinders, Subs or Hoagies are actually the same thing. In New Orleans it's a Po' Boy! That's why some people call something Soda, Soda Pop, Pop or in Boston.... Tonic or in many places in the south all carbonated beverage is called a coke!
When I moved to California, all fizzy soft drinks were called Pepsi.
