Wow! If one is not hell’s bent on staying on property, that is amazing!!@donaldtoo I just checked a random week in October. 4 br 3.5 bath full kitchen, high chair crib etc town home 5 minutes from parking 130 per night
We stayed in that exact condo and it was quite nice. Half a block from the community center w/pool, fitness area tiki bar. Publix is around the corner, gas station at the end of the street right before Disney. They also give some sort of AAA discount. It's rather nice except for all the people with funny accents, they sound like ferretsWow! If one is not hell’s bent on staying on property, that is amazing!!

And, OK gang, October travel plans changed...
First it was WDW, then Europe, now another Carnival Caribbean cruise...!!!!!!!
Bottom line, all week-long trips...WDW $11,000-ish, Europe $9,000-ish, Carnival cruise $5,000-ish...no contest.
And, for the record, I had absolutely nothing to do with the decision...all DWifey and the kiddos planning. They just decided WDW was ridiculous, and Europe can wait until anywhere from 6 mos. to a year after our cruise.
Our dear little Emy will get to Disney, but, first she’s gonna’ see a little bit of the rest of the world...!!!
If we’re gonna’ drop that kinda’ money at WDW, DD and SonIL would like Emy to be old enough to at least have some of her own memories...!!!
The Carnival cruise will be out of Galveston again, on the newest ship, the Vista...!!!!!
October 5-12, deck 9 midship, starboard with 2 adjoining staterooms with connected, openable, balcony.
Same destinations as last cruise, as DD and SonIL had to cancel because of our little bundle of Emy joy...!!!!!
Montego Bay, Grand Cayman, Cozumel...!!!!! 🛳
I. CANNOT. WAIT...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![]()
Congrats on the cruise. When the time come can you take you mother in law? If so you can get the cost of a Disney trip wayyy down by staying at Shades of Green and eating some of you meals there not to mention the cost of adult beveragesAlso the proximity to the monorail is a big plus when traveling with kids. Rooms are huge and sleep 5
What she said and in @donaldtoo's case it will be cheaper unless his FIL retired as a generalFWIW, when we brought A for her first time she was two months shy of 3 years old and it shaped her whole existence. The magic was super real for her, and although she won't likely remember the trip when she's 30, she had many memories from it and still talks about things we did on that trip. I know people say they want to wait until their kids will remember it, but young children definitely form memories that they carry with them over the next couple of years.
Shades of Green is really great! The rooms are huge and it's only like... $160 a night. You get most perks of a Disney resort and it's super close to the Poly and the monorail (although you'll definitely want a stroller.
FTFYAbsolutely spot on. I sound just like that
If it will make him feel better I had that happen to me toward the end of last December when we had a small snow fall. I was walking along on what I thought was dry pavement and I stepped on a patch unseen ice and my feet kicked right out from under me and down I went. Fortunately only my pride was hurt. I have enough padding and woolly mammoth sized bones to prevent any serious thing. It started snowing right before I picked DS up from school and it's so slippery that he fell just short of our house. Poor kid. He's fine, but very upset about it.
There was a lot of bad this year. I will leave it at that. Proud of how well they were able to do.Sorry about that. They did have bad practice conditions and that could not have helped.
Sympathy like. Snow is still coming down here.Sending warm hugs and ammo. I can't get out to use it![]()
A little ice and snow doesn't stop us. And I don't think the schools here have ever done a late start or early dismissal. All after school activities were closed, as was the high school, right at last bell. When did the district let everyone know? 15 minutes before last bell. I had planned on picking up DD and her trombone later. She had a lesson after school at 4, they won't let her on the bus with her trombone, and she figured she would grab a practice room for a bit, then head over to the media center. Change of plans! No school today, maybe ice tomorrow, maybe some snow Thursday. Please send wine.![]()
Thank you! I am just looking for a way for him to call if he has any problems, maybe a quick hi there, so we know he is ok, since he will be off most likely for 2 weeks. Otherwise, I hope he is so busy, he doesn't have time for chit chat.Note that "Roaming" doesn't necessary means "fee free".
It might mean that you will have service in these countries, but roaming fees will apply.
Or have different rates per Mb or per call.
I have "international plan" in my AT&T contract.
But its "like in your home country" when I'm in CANADA or USA (I'm from Mexico).
I got signal in San Juan and Labadee but not in Sint Maarten. I also got no data on Labadee.
So it might be completely dependent on where you are.
The most reasonable thing is.. you will have full voice service.. but Data might be different.
Yea, I realize that this was a while ago, but, in 2008 I took 11 family members for a week in Kissimmee and thusly WDW. We stayed in an incredible 6 bedroom villa just less then a mile from the entrance to WDW. This place was unbelievable. It had everything Florida room with private pool and hot tube, full kitchen, laundry, play room with pool table and air hockey, TV's in every room. It included a car rental in the cost. I paid for all 7 days non-expiring tickets (back then), Airfare for everyone from Vermont and back, we ate out most of the time and everyone paid for their own meals plus we chipped in and bought supplies for in-house meals (grill included) I drove my car down and rented an additional auto to go with the one included in the rent and paid for parking at the parks. Everything, including my own meals, cost me about $7500.00. Try doing that onsite and I still got to enjoy every aspect of WDW. But, that is just me. I feel that I miss out on nothing by staying just a few feet away from the property. I have diversity of choice for meals that require no 6 month advance in what my tastes might be at the time and no reservations required. (I won't even mention how much less expensive meals are compared to the resort prices.) (Oops, I guess I did mention it) I know it is probably a lot more expensive now, but, I'll bet it still beats Disney prices.Wow! If one is not hell’s bent on staying on property, that is amazing!!
