As a side note observation here, Pyrex is a good product; but a few years ago, I found that the measuring cup painting on the sides of the cup was wearing off, from multiple dishwashing.

Conversely, a company called Anchor Hocking's measuring cups never had that problem, so I've only bought that brand for the past few years now. They sell it at the Target in my area.
THNX I stocked up several years ago and haven't had any problems and am hoping not to need any for several more years. BTW I also got a fancy Nordic Ware bunt pan from Christmas Tree Shop made in the USA

Does anyone think celebrating the "New Year" is silly? I mean....this new year feels just like the old year. And next Dec. 31st this current new year will definitely be an old year. 10, 9, 8, 7.....the entire thing is just so random.
....I didn't want to post about this back on Dec. 31st or Jan. 1 because I'd be a "party pooper" or a New Year's grinch....but now seems like a safer time to post on the subject ;)
I think it's a good way to take stock of one's life or a good excuse for a party with friends and family. If nothing else just a nice end to the holiday season. IMHO

I am not a fan of New Year's myself. Never liked it, even as a kid. I just saw it as I was getting older and time was going by too quickly.

For sure it is an excuse for a party.:).....yet Sept 1st feels like it would be a more logical New Year to me...because some things actually feel different in September. School kids are all ending summer vacation and meeting their new teachers.Baseball season is on the verge of its playoffs and Football season is starting.Additionally Sept. actually transitions us out of summer and into fall. Whereas late Dec. 31st is cold...New Year's Day is cold....today is still cold. Nothing special about January 1st .
Ha ha ha ....I'm just a joy to be around today :hilarious:

I got some Anchor Hocking ones for xmas this year, I had some nice oxo ones, but I kept burning a whole thru them (plastic) melting butter in the microwave (oops!)

We just came back from our basketball game.. snowmen everywhere! We saw a snow fort too. We haven’t had this much snow in a long time, I think all of the kids are thrilled. Normally the snowmen are about 2 feet high on past snow days.lol
We don't usually get a lot of snow here, and it doesn't stick for very long when we do. So a few years ago, it snowed a LOT overnight and it was so awesome because the teachers let the kids stay out and play in the snow for a while, knowing it wouldn't be there anymore by recess. So almost the entire school was out on the playground having snowball fights and building snowmen. I loved that the teachers didn't call them in right away.

Well, spending this morning and early afternoon in the ER wasn’t exactly what I had in mind when I got up this morning... :cyclops:
Just as I was getting out of my car at the office, I felt my first sustained (more than a few seconds) SVT heart event in over a decade (last was in Dec. of ‘08) kick in. Didn’t get sprung from the ER ‘til a little before 2p.
Fortunately, I didn’t need adenosine to convert, and all tests came back negative for anything worse than the actual event.
There goes one of my 2 extra personal days the firm gave us this year...ER-day Tuesday...!!!!!!! :joyfull::hilarious:;):)
Glad it all seems ok. Always worth it to miss a little to take care of you.
