The Chit Chat Chit Chat Thread

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Sure goes to show you that some people can have spirited conversations and move on while others have to make enemies and hold grudges. Ain't got time for that!
I hold grudges; but not for long.
The longer you carry them, the heavier they become. Then they become your burden, while the other person skips along their merry way.

Quick to anger. Quicker to forgive.
(Now if I could just work on the quick to anger part!)

love the explanation in the "hard to hearing" part.
that is exactly what should be always said.
deafness is not an OFF/ON switch.

but disagree by a LOT on the implant hearing recovery.

Isn't it funny what offends one and not another? Me depending on the situation I can hear well, change the noise level and I can't hear at all. I really have never taken offence at much, I just usually look folks straight in the eye and ask they speak up, I'm hearing impaired and move on. I do get jollies out of peeps that believe they speak for all. I have had little tolerance for those who take over for me though as if they are advocating for a toddler but I try to take it in kind because indeed they are trying to be considerate even though it is awkward as heck.

Yeah, I get that. I have a very long fuse so it takes a lot to get me to the anger level. I find amusement in the grudges people hold over strange petty difference of opinions. When you view any of those topics at hand it is never worth the divide. Moving on is the more intelligent action.

Now, those pictures are spectacular. I love the layout of that store with all that open space from the ground up; it lends itself to a huge, magnificent tree. That is just gorgeous. (I actually like the decorations on the tree better, in the older picture, but it still looks very nice in the modern one, too.)

The cottage is really a creative and beautiful idea, too. They had some outstanding designers at your stores back then.

All the above brought so much excitement to the holiday shopping experience. I truly miss all these embellishments in my city, too. I recall wondering each year, how they would top the previous one, with the creative and lovely window displays, indoor decorations, etc. Jordan Marsh had the Enchanted Village of St. Nicholas, with mannequins of children dressed in old English clothing, and street scenes of an old village at Christmas time. It was a huge draw to the store; many families made it a point to go to JM during the Christmas season to see this charming display.

I'll would not trade my childhood experiences commercially to what my own children experienced. My childhood built anticipation of the entire season culminating on Christmas Day. The commercialism of my children's generation was more the hype of the pure product being marketed. Part of the marketing in my generation was the draw of the free seasonal incitements similar to the 4th of July fireworks displays. There are too little free warm and fuzzy moments.

Ha! You're right! And don't forget about how he recently stole a whole stick of butter from the table and ate that!! :hilarious:

Guess my mind must have wandered to more normal animals in the safari tour, when I said they weren't silly like people. Jack is an exception. ;)

Jack has the personality of both my Shepard and my female Golden. Spirited. I don't get the mustard thing, I grasp his love of butter. The upside of the butter is it is actually good for his coat and skin in the harsh winter months.

and also.. 2 days ago I got my new Sigma Lens.. this thing is heavy!!!
and BIG

View attachment 87529

(sigma 24-105mm F4 FX Nikon, and my Nikon D610)

I will only need to buy 2 lenses and I will be all set!

a ultrawide zoom (I'm eyeing the 18mm-36mm Nikkor)
and the Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary.
with these 4 lenses I have, I think will have all the things covered for travelling (nature spots and general tourism where photography is a must).

It was penance, actually. ;)
Although, you could have simply told me to make like a whale and blow it out my hole, since I'm not an ordained food priest/minister...!!! :joyfull: :D ;) :)
Looking forward to # (that's "number", not "hashtag" ;)) 10, and many more to come, please...! :)
I would NEVER tell you to blow anything out your hole, unless you were close to the Tangled bathrooms.

as far I know, the brothers Grimm was actually a very misogynist skewed version of the original series.
most of the original stories had happy endings.. but the brothers Grimm loved the BAD tragedy type endings.
I have always loved the Grimm Fairy Tales. My first Grimm book was given to me at 4 years old. I know because I still have it and I read the inscription written by my mom.:inlove:

Its the point of view imho.
I'm not sure, but it seems she as been deaf her entire life.. hence why she doesn't see the necessity of an implant. I lost my hearing at 9.. my talking, understanding ..etc.. got a huge hit.
The implant is a godsend imho.

I wonder why they would hold grudges for just talking or opinion disagreement.
Agree with you that its pretty petty for these silly things..

People who actually hurt you... thats where I hold a big grudge...I hold grudges for a long times when someone back-stabs me or my friends.

oh, its not that complex.

The lenses are just a) Brands b) Slot/type of connector C) zoom/prime D) length

So... brand its pretty easy, theres usually 4 brands for every major company (Nikon, Sigma, Tamron and Tokina for Nikon F bayonet connector)
Type of connector refers to the type of plug the lens fits into the camera.
Nikon's standard right now is "F".

Zoom/Prime means if the lens can "zoom" or if its fixed. (primes are fixed)
And then the length or focal distance. defined in mm and shows how far they can "reach" and how wide their angle of view is (the stronger the "reach" the shorter the angle of view)

I'm no expert, I would say I'm an noob who is trying to learn photography.

So why is it, that I received from Disney Destinations (via email), "FL Residents: Your March Disney eNews is Here!" ? (When did I become a Florida resident? o_O ) Just to put this in perspective, I've been receiving Disney Destination emails for years, so I found it quite odd that they determined that I moved . . .
