Doin' another outdoor mall location clothing store closer. Scheduled to do another one tomorrow night.
It's spring break 'round these parts. Two of the partners at my regular architecture gig are out all week, one won't be back 'til Thurs., and the fourth is in for only tomorrow and Weds. So, other than a design deadline I had to meet this afternoon and one other that I will easily meet by noon tomorrow, ain't nothin' too crazy goin' on there this week. :)

Yea, South by Southwest and Rodeo Austin both started this week. Austin's pretty nuts (weird :rolleyes: ;)) right now.
All kinds of Hollywood types, etc., comin' to town.
Jimmy Kimmel is doin' his show from Austin all week.
I'm gonna' do my best to not get anywhere near downtown this week...! :confused: ;) :)

I don't blame you; I don't like huge crowds, either. Maybe you can watch some of the highlights on your local news. Perhaps there might be some other options like live streaming from the major venues. Apparently, from what I heard in the report, this festival has just morphed into a huge event over the years.

Also, most homes in FL (especially since about the seventies) are built with exterior walls of concrete block. I guess wood is used because it is cheaper to build, but not cheaper to maintain.

CMU (concrete masonry units ;) - concrete blocks) are one on the main materials the safe rooms we design into homes down here are built of. That, and reinforced concrete. :)

Yep, I'm like you when it comes to the crowds (although, I do seem to be able to handle them better while at WDW ;)). I'll catch stuff about all the local happenings here and there on the news.
And yes, It's become quite the event over the years, and, for better or worse, just keeps gettin' bigger every year. :)
