Glad I’m not the only one who was reminded of Jake from “Jake and the Neverland Pirates” with this character...we used to sell a bunch of that product at the Disney Store...!!!!! :hilarious:

He reminds me of Jake as well.. at least in the photo.. I’ve never seen the show.

Jake and the Neverland pirates was T’s favorite show. We’ve gotten rid of all of the toys, but kept a board game.

After the game T said “Mom, it’s kind of a tradition for us to go Frisch’s breakfast bar after soccer.. so, can we go, please?”
(We’ve gone 3 or 4 times in the past.. not necessarily a tradition lol)

“T, you’re banned from buffets after the blackberries at GWL.”

“Mom, I promise I’ll eat. I’m starving!”

“Ok.”

Here’s his plates-

Salad (lettuce, cheese, and ranch)
He hates food pics so trying to block me.

ALL of which we have at home. He passed on pancakes, French toast, bacon, biscuits, eggs, etc etc.. PASSED on all hot foods. :cautious:🙄
Sympathy like. Guess sometimes it is fun not to eat at home.

Yesterday was a busy day at my house. We went to our local dead mall to dee The Nutracker. And when I say dead, I mean dead. Look. This is at 2 pm on a Saturday.

The busiest spot at the moment was the Auntie Anne’s that we had just purchased pretzels from. Very sad. No more anchor stores. There is an American Eagle, Payless shoes, Vicoria Secret,Kay Jewelers, and Bath & Body Works that were open on that side. The other stores were a nail and hair salon.

In any case we all really liked the movie. The story is different from the ballet production. I usually don’t like when stories are changed, but I was fine with it. It was a fantasy film. I think Christmas time would have been a better release time for it though.

In the afternoon the cheer teams at the school youngest goes to showed off their new routines. Youngest’s group was fantastic. Best they had done since they started learning the routine.

Wow. That mall picture was a downer. I also remember when malls were a sea of people on a Saturday afternoon.

Glad you liked the movie. I'll see it eventually, but not sure when -- maybe on DVD.

Congrats to your youngest DD on her team's new routines! :)

So I cut contact with my immediate family a few months ago due to being a scapegoat in a toxic environment. My dad died February of 2017, and I just found out through one of my aunts that my mom has up and suddenly became engaged to a man she had supposedly known her whole life...news to me, I don't know who this guy is...and is getting married to him this coming Saturday. On top of that, I was also told that she has cancer.

My mother is the main reason I have cut contact, very narcissistic. But I don't know how to feel right now. I have blocked her on FB and my phone because I wanted no contact because of the constant damage and fall I was always taking.

I do have support here with my DH and his family, but I am reaching out to see if anyone out there has been through something similar and can maybe offer some advice. I am not going back to contact but I need help and guidance for myself. What do I do? I do have an option this Saturday to go help my DH's family with yard work and that is possibly the best things to do this weekend, but other than that...

I am just feeling at a complete loss.

Atomic clock
An atomic clock is a clock device that uses an electron transition frequency in the microwave, optical, or ultraviolet region of the electromagnetic spectrum of atoms as a frequency standard for its timekeeping element. Wikipedia

Wow!!! Even our somewhat dying local mall isn’t nearly that bad on a Saturday afternoon (at least not the last time I was in there on a Saturday several months ago)...!!! :cyclops:

Speaking of which, DWifey was in the mall a little while back and noticed the clothing store I used to do the closers at is closed permanently at that location. Wondered why I hadn’t heard from him in a while. He’s also not the type to communicate such information unless he needed me for a shift, then he’d tell me where they moved.
But, none of that this time, so I’m wondering if he just finally had to completely call his business quits...?
Sure hope not, but, I texted him and have heard nothing back, yet. Hope to here back at some point...we’ll see.......

Oh no! I hope he gets in touch with you. You were a great salesman, and the extra money came in handy, I'm sure. Hoping he didn't completely shut down the business. :(

@MySmallWorldof4, your mall post sent me down memory lane, regarding our local mall...!!!!! :hilarious:

In the pic below (all pics are from the web), you can see the Brookstone in the lower left, and the black and white tile entrance to the Disney Store I worked at for 4+ years just up and across the concourse to the right...both long gone, now...

Both DDs had their first Jobs here :) ...also long gone...

The food court area originally had this fun goin’ on (the props in the red circle I drew in the first pic were “painting” - the 3rd pic is a closeup of them)...!!! :)

I just had a great experience on the phone with Shop Disney... bought a halloween tshirt for our trip around that time in 2019, got it, and it was too small. (always read the reviews!) I planned on doing an exchange, but I was afraid it would sell out, and then it went on sale for even cheaper... so I decided rather than wait and taking my chances on the exchange, I would buy the new size and send the old one back for a refund. But when I went to send it back, there was no disney postage... so I thought hmmm am I expected to pay for postage? So I called, and the customer service agent gave me a credit to the site, in the amount of the first purchase and told me to donate the shirt to a friend or charity. Works for me.... I'm going to keep my eye out on the holiday shirts to see if they go on sale and use it towards that anyway.

Looking at the original pictures -- is that a Simon Mall? Looks very much like one of the up in our area--which is still doing business, but they've lost some stores (most recently, Sears).

It is indeed a Simon property.
It seems to still be doing decent business, although nothing like up to about 6-8 years ago.
The Sears there also closed in early September.

We didn't have any B. F. stores around here, so Woolworth's (and Kresge's--which I think turned into KMart) were in this area. They were just fun--not high end stuff or anything.
The thing about Ben Franklin's was that they were franchises. Individuals, a fee for the right to use the name, but, had to buy from Ben Franklin which at the time was located in Baltimore. So, there were fewer of them as opposed to Woolworth, Sears, Kresge's which were company stores. Strength in numbers.
