Oh and the Spiegel catalog, too! I miss all of those! (The mail carriers must have built muscles delivering all those catalogs to homes. I'll bet the post office misses the delivery revenue from them, though.)
There also were the Brookstone, and Sharper Image catalogs. I wonder if Brookstone will still have one since they closed all their stores. It was fun looking at the gadgets.

Maleficient on one side? and no idea on the kid on the right. The suit reminds me of captain Harlock, but the sword and the headband does not fit.
A Japanese Samurai? No clue otherwise. They are adorable. :)

He was “Zak Storm” an apparently popular show that I had never heard of.
It made me feel old when I didn’t know..lol. I feel better that I’m not the only one! 🤣

We had Woolworth's and Zayres, too. I loved Woolworths--they had everything. I mean, you could buy gloves and scarves on the first floor, sit at a lunch counter and get a hot dog and soda, and then go upstairs to the 2nd floor and buy a hamster! :hilarious: (No, I'm not making that up--parakeets and hamsters on 2nd floor, along with more clothing, housewares, etc.) That place had real CLASS!! :p
We had a Woolworth’s near us. When my grandmother came to visit she would take me there. I remember eating lunch with her there. Good memories.

It's ok, I can see well enough that it isn't stopping me from doing anything that I want to do, just frustrating. This has been one awful year. My retirement accounts lost 4K in value in one month... almost 6K for the year. (in that super strong, never been better economy I keep hearing about) My health though not life threatening has been one thing after another. Now it appears that the rental complex is attempting to push me out because I have one of the last, non-upgraded apartments in the complex where the turnover has been so high that they have been able to update all but 30 apartments (out of 147) in the past year and a half. Also in their highly intellectual management procedures have over half of them still empty. All they have done is cosmetic things that in some cases, was not needed just to justify the $200 to $300 per month increase in rents. They are only offering a 6 month lease now and are able to raise the rent every 6 months. So it looks like I am going to have to start looking for another place to live. That's how they treat someone that has been here for 8 years, paid my rent on the first of the month every single month that I have been here. Do some of my own repairs in many cases and have never had anyone complain about me nor have I complained about anyone else. I have been very low maintenance, but, I don't pay as much as the new apartments do. So one more disruption in my life is here again. I'm getting tired.
I am sorry to hear that you may need to move.

just how many cars go under?? o_O

I’ve never actually seen a vehicle completely submerged in that spot, although, close to completely submerged.
As I’ve posted before, around 40-ish over the 42+ years we’ve lived here have gone in that I’ve seen. I remember one year at least 3 went in. Who knows how many others over weekends, or during times I wasn’t driving the road.
There’s a quick turn into the crossing and a quick turn out of it that seems to throw many drivers, especially when it’s raining.

Here’s a Google Earth of the creek crossing and the turns into it, and one of the approx. location where the car is sitting...

Yesterday was a busy day at my house. We went to our local dead mall to dee The Nutracker. And when I say dead, I mean dead. Look. This is at 2 pm on a Saturday.

The busiest spot at the moment was the Auntie Anne’s that we had just purchased pretzels from. Very sad. No more anchor stores. There is an American Eagle, Payless shoes, Vicoria Secret,Kay Jewelers, and Bath & Body Works that were open on that side. The other stores were a nail and hair salon.

In any case we all really liked the movie. The story is different from the ballet production. I usually don’t like when stories are changed, but I was fine with it. It was a fantasy film. I think Christmas time would have been a better release time for it though.

In the afternoon the cheer teams at the school youngest goes to showed off their new routines. Youngest’s group was fantastic. Best they had done since they started learning the routine.

That mall does look pretty sad. I'm looking forward to seeing the Nutcracker movie, I'm hoping we can see it on Thursday.

It's snowing.....
Yea, it's pretty cold here as well. Right now it is a frosty 50 degrees. I'm thinking that at some point in time I may have to turn the heat on. Not inside though it is still 68 degrees in here. That is all I would need this year is snow, in November. We have been known to have some in late December and January. However, November would be a good excuse to move further south.

Playhouse Disney? My kids no longer watch it. Even my soon to be 8 yr old doesn’t want to anymore. :(

Same. T doesn’t watch it anymore. :(.
I think that show is on Netflix, we haven’t had Netflix in close to a year. We don’t even have Hulu or Amazon.

Do you recommend the Nutcracker movie for me and T?

It's snowing.....

I can’t like this. 👎🏻
