I think in return he should support you! For every hour you have to spend with them you should get an extra Hour in Basin or 1 dinner out at your choice of restaurant;)

Great idea!

While sporting a MW shirt:angelic:

And my Wild sweatpants. Since they dress up for dinner the sweatpants and tee shirt would really bug them!;)

I wasn’t able to take the country backroad portion of my commute to or from work last Monday because of the flooding. It was clear enough to take Tuesday morning, and the rest of the week, and today both ways.
Last Tuesday, on my way in, I noticed a car in the creek (I’ve seen the aftermath of at least 40 cars having gone into the creek at this low water crossing over the years...it has a sharp turn both going into and coming out of it). The car stayed there all last week, and was still there again on my way in this morning.
I’ve never seen anything like it before...they usually have them out within’ an hour or so. And, yep, it was still there on my way home this evenin’...WTH?!?!?! :cyclops:

Happy birthday! Is that wine pretty popular in your area? I was just reading on someone's trip report that they had gotten some, and I had never heard of it before, but it sounded like it was a pretty big deal.

Thank you!!! :)
That was the first time I ever heard of or had that wine. DD and SonIL picked it up at their local HEB for $8.
I am definitely no wine connoisseur, but, that was one of the best reds I’ve ever had...the perfect blend of dry and sweet...!!!!! :hungry:

Ok so I’ve poured over our schedules, There’s no way that we can make it to Cedar Point this year without driving all night for me to arrive in time for work.
T is off school this Friday, I don’t have childcare.. figured we’d take a quick trip somewhere. I’d love to do Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, but same as Sandusky with the drive.

So, I booked a quick 2 night stay at GWL near our house.. and we’ll do Halloween Haunt on Friday night again (last time one of the boys didn’t want to do the haunted houses, and I had to buy him a ‘no scare’ necklace for walking around the park)..

I’m going to surprise T when I get him from school on Thursday. We’re going to skip technical training that night too, it’s the only way that I could justify the stay.
He has no idea. :)

Has anyone done Great Wolf Lodge during Halloween season? Looks like they have trick or treating and a few activities.

Fun!!!

Childcare for the future anyhow for days off school...try and get some recommendations for high school aged kids that also are off from school. It was a great back-up for me back in the day when childcare was closed. Also our local Lutheran Care also had before and after care and they took drop ins (pre-register) for school days off. Sympathy. I don't remember those days fondly of trying to fill the gaps with school days off.

Long story short....My husband's sisters are not nice people. Hub's broke his ankle and couldn't drive last year, I don't feel comfortable driving in the Chicago area (especially in the winter when roads might be icy). So according to them I am a horrible person because I wouldn't drive down for the family Christmas or put out over $500* to fly (and more for hotel) down to Chicago for two days. We offered to host for the year but they of course couldn't drive up here, and in the 13 years we have been married have never been to visit us.

Good grief... they expect you to come there, but they won't come up... sounds great. My first husband was from Chicago (Oak Park).. but my in-laws were/are wonderful people. In fact, I'll be making time to see my Ex's sister in law while I'm in Florida at thanksgiving. I guess I'm lucky!
