Again that stinks! What was wrong with it?

Some was just general stuff like the fluids, and other general maintenance, etc. We needed a new timing belt kit and installation, though. That's what really kicked up the price. And then something about a sensor thingamabog being replaced. (I'm not very mechanically trained--I don't understand half the bill itemizations.) And the funny thing was that we saved $57 overall, because the garage was having a sale on some of the repair items. So without that discount, it would have run over $900.

Nope, still our 2007 Chevy Aveo! :hilarious: Car repairs around here are very expensive -- parts prices run the gamut, but the labor is also very high. Believe it or not, hubs has done a lot of work on the car, himself, but certain things he cannot do, because he doesn't have the specialized equipment, nor a lift to put the car on. Years ago, he'd crawl around underneath cars and do some repairs, but that usually resulted in some cuts and bruises on the hands, so those types of repairs he sends to the shop where they can put it up on a lift.
Big cities = high labor costs. One reason why I like not living in a city anymore, or a suburb of one. In any case, I hope you don’t have any more repairs for a long time.

Got my step dad an iPad. He had it for months and never used it. He gave it back. :hilarious:
There's a commercial here...I am not even sure what it's for anymore, but you see this elderly man chopping up some veggies, and putting them into a collander, and then his daughter or granddaughter comes in and asks how he likes his new ipad, and he says it's great, and then she leaves the room, and you see him pick up the "cutting board" and putting it in the dishwasher, but it's the ipad. He didn't know what it was and she didn't notice that's what he was using as a cutting board. :hilarious:

Yikes....what was wrong with it that it will cost so much to fix??

Just in case you all were curious, I did make the cauliflower soup today.... and it's purist approved. The only tweak I would make is it has you put in a cup of sharp cheddar, and I think something a bit more mild would taste better.
