Again that stinks! What was wrong with it?
Some was just general stuff like the fluids, and other general maintenance,etc. We needed a new timing belt kit and installation, though. That's what really kicked up the price. And then something about a sensor thingamabog being replaced. (I'm not very mechanically trained--I don't understand half the bill itemizations.) And the funny thing was that we saved $57 overall, because the garage was having a sale on some of the repair items. So without that discount, it would have run over $900.

Car repairs around here are very expensive -- parts prices run the gamut, but the labor is also very high. Believe it or not, hubs has done a lot of work on the car, himself, but certain things he cannot do, because he doesn't have the specialized equipment, nor a lift to put the car on. Years ago, he'd crawl around underneath cars and do some repairs, but that usually resulted in some cuts and bruises on the hands, so those types of repairs he sends to the shop where they can put it up on a lift.
