I'm feeling older today
1)Tomorrow my daughter is taking her PSAT test. The regular SAT will be this spring.
2)Today I wrote an e-mail to our car insurance agent asking how much it will cost to add my daughter on to our Allstate car insurance.
3)Next month we visit two more colleges for my teen.
......................................life is marching on:)
My oldest dd is taking the PSAT tomorrow as well. We are considering the ACT instead of the SAT though.

I saw the movie first. It was required viewing for chorus when it came out. :hilarious: I don't mind that I saw the movie first. It meant I could follow what was going on and just focus on enjoying the voices. My mom had a bit of trouble following the plot. She didn't pick up, for instance, that Eponine was the Thenadiers' daughter.

She also didn't see Eponine or Javert's deaths coming. Of course, Javert commits suicide and she says, "Well, that was a bit of an overreaction..."

I loved the movie, definitely think that Russel Crowe received a lot of unearned hate.. but I rarely listen to the movie soundtrack. I LOVE the 10th Anniversary.. but I think the 25th has my heart. Lea Salonga AND Samantha Barks.😍😍. I put them on tv while I’m cleaning... sometimes I have to just sit and watch in awe.

I’m a huge Lea Salonga fan, saw her in her own solo concert 2 years ago.. she is amazing.

You should get the 25th and watch it with your mom. Nick Jonas did fine, despite claims to the contrary...at least in my opinion. She would probably enjoy it!

Thanks. Please share more about why you would do that. Is ACT equally valued/accepted/respected by colleges and universities?

I can say that as an elementary mom.. all of the high schools where my son may attend are heavily advertising their ACT scores.. as in billboards and highlighted on promotional materials and website. I’ve never noticed that before this year.. but I can’t say that I paid attention before.

@Rista1313 Are you wearing fan gear or normal clothes? Some of my friends still have their clothes from when we were kids.. and wearing them.😂. The only thing I have left is a sleeping bag.

Sadly I don't have my NKOTB tshirt anymore! And my 80's outfits have since been retired.. but I might have to come up with something. Here's a picture of me in the 80's

Omg!! Awesome!!! Ha!! I just got tickets on Tuesday for the Cincinnati show!!

There’s 6 of us going.. One was in charge of tickets.. sends us a message-“ Sorry all, they were $187, but we got them!! I hope you don’t mind!” She even paid to join some fan club or something so she could buy tickets early.🤦‍♀️

I want to sell mine. 😂😂😂 I didn’t want to pay that much. :(... but.. I know it will be a fun time!

Have you been to any of their concerts as an adult? I have not been since a teen or maybe tween.

I actually have about 6 years ago when they were with the other super boy band..... I can't think of their name! Saw them twice when I was a teen.

and YIKES on the tickets... I purposely bought nosebleeds to keep it cheap... $29.95 and still with fees it ended up at $85! for 2

I'm going to show my age a little bit here.. but today I bought tickets to see New Kids on the Block (with Tiffany, Debbie Gibson, Salt n Pepa, and Naughty by Nature) I might be a little bit psyched and silly.

The first concert I ever saw was NKOTB with Tiffany opening. With my best friend. She's going this time too!
Oh my gosh! We are the same age. The other day when I was sitting with some moms waiting for our girls to come out of cheer practice, they mentioned that concert. It is playing up in Hershey. I live in PA. Anyway, my dh loved NKOB, Debbie Gibson was his major crush, and he is/was the only male I knew with a Tiffany tape in his car. I did mention the concert to him.

He can buy my ticket!!!! Lol.

Seriously, I was such a humongous New Kids fan.. but this concert night is past my threshold of acceptable. 🤦‍♀️

The SAT is not the same like when we were kids. The reading part from their website says that they want the students to read between the lines of what an author is stating. I am sorry but on a multiple choice test there can be multiple answers when it comes to interpretation. If it was an essay, then you could justify your answers. There is a time issue as well. You need to understand the time period that an author was living in. Their life was different. They are asking a teen to put themselves in the shoes of an author who could be a 19th century writer, or a politician from the 20th century(I am using examples for literature passages they had on practice exams), and interpret what they meant. It is all assumption. I think fair reading comprehension and not analysis is more what should be tested. The ACT seems to be more like that. There is also science in the ACT. I believe most Universities accept the ACT. You can check out their website and look at practice exams. You can go on PSAT's website(college board), and look at example tests on their site.
