We all love it here. Except for a major snafu at the Exchange this morning and the ensuing angry mob, it's been absolutely wonderful. The food is amazing, the pools are great, the ice cream is delicious.... It's a phenomenal hotel. And the grounds are absolutely gorgeous, the beds are comfortable, and everywhere you turn you see wildlife playing.

I think that used to be a golf resort, years ago. So that may explain the plentiful land and upscale feel of the place. Glad you and A are enjoying it.

I have never seen a bat where we live in PA. We did have bats where we lived in Central Jersey. No pine trees there. I liked them because they ate bugs. I don't have a fear of bats like you, so don't mind them. I would if they were in my house though. My younger 2 loooove bats. One even did a report on them last school year. They squeal with joy at videos of bats too. :hilarious:

I do like that bats to eat mosquitoes but they can stay far away from me.

I'm wondering (after reading multiple comments about various trees) if the problems happen due to all these trees are just too close to the houses. Thinking that maybe if the trees were pushed back a bit more (provided people had enough land in their yards), the problems with acorns and pine needles would be far less.
None of our trees are close to our house. We never need to rake. Never have any trouble with the gutters either.

I would like to get a crab apple tree because they are so pretty in the spring. I don't want to crab apples though. However, the Arboretum that we are members of, has been testing new varieties of crab apples that have many bloom but the crab apples are very tiny and most stay on the tree (for birds to eat) so there isn't a big clean up to do on the ground. So perhaps if that becomes available I will get one of those.

@donaldtoo , I saw this article in Flying Magazine. It's encouraging to read that aviation careers are being introduced at a young age to girls, nowadays. (Maybe one of your future grandchildren might choose aviation as a career? You never know. ;) ) :)

Sorry Minnie, somehow I missed this alert/post... :cyclops:
This is VERY COOL!!!!! :)
Both of our DDs have always known my love of flying, and they love to fly, but, they never loved it enough to become pilots, or pursue an aeronautics/aerospace career.
I very much wanted to be a commercial pilot many, many years ago. But, as my life progressed, and I realized how much I really wanted to also marry and help raise a family, the out town so much of the time aspect lead to me changing my focus to my other love of architecture.
My loving DDs were also my main advocates in arranging my chopper flight, and both of my gyroplane flights...!!!!!!!:inlove:
There has already been so many women that have been instrumental in aviation, space travel, etc.
Also, IIRC, didn’t a 12-yr.-old American young lady, not all that long ago, set a record as the youngest person to circumnavigate the globe in a plane...?!
Anyway, great story, go get’em ladies, and thanks for sharing...!!!!! :)

There is an aviation high school here in town. Lots of young gals go there... It's pretty awesome. Me? I knew since I was 10 that I wanted to work for the airlines as a ticket/gate again. And I did from the age of 18 for thirteen years... but got laid off after 9/11 and I just can't live on the pathetic pay and own a house. But I miss it every day!

I hope it's only going to be a short closure...I'd like to be able to do MPB in 2019. I know I read that it was closing because of TRON construction, but there was speculation as to how long it would be closed, because they actually gave a time frame for Tomorrowland Speedway, but not for MPB. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
I’ve heard 1.5 years or until 2021. Don’t think they really know yet
