I never really use straws either but I had ice coffee and the straw cut in half.

1. If your disabled or your one of those people who can't walk and drink at the same time.

2. They also use wayyyyy too much ice.
1. Disabled has nothing to do with it. Unless you are walking in a cage you are open to have someone looking the other way run into your arm or someplace causing spills. Or maybe you are even attracted away from walking and drinking at the same time and trip or misstep causing your balance reflexes to kick into action.

2. Always a matter of opinion. I don't think they ever put enough ice in things. I drink Ice Tea almost constantly and they never put enough ice in it. Tea like coffee is made up of mostly water, probably 99+% water, a little more will not harm anything and will make it truly cold and refreshing. My Vietnam experience even has me putting ice in beer. I hate warm beer.

I'm sad about it closing too. That was one attraction we have never done at WDW (the other being Disney Jr). We kept putting it off, saying next time. Well I guess there will be no next time.

Would he still like the two trails at AK? We like those, well except for the part in the Asia one with the bats. But they can by very peaceful and give a good view of animals.
The thing we were most looking forward to was the petting zoo type thing for DS. There were at least goats there, if not sheep, which DS is obsessed with. And he loves anything soft and fluffy. He's almost 11, but if you take him to a carnival, he wants to play the kiddie games to win a stuffed animal. So because our experience at AK was so bad last time, we were counting on the petting zoo for him to have a GOOD experience at AK. Back to the drawing board.

Sympathy like and lots of pixie dust. How did he do with FOTLK and FNTM shows? I'm sure your dd and dh will want to ride Dinosaur is there any chance you can do rider swap and he'll want to play in the boneyard?

Kids are a lot more clever then we think. Here is this little human, too small to intimidate because of size and strength, at that stage uneducated in any advance skills and complex thoughts. Their only defense is somehow to manipulate their bigger, stronger foes is to play on emotions. If you don't think they can see and register your reaction... think again. They know that saying something like that will be their only chance of getting what they want. It's called playing one parent against the other and for some reason, maybe as a built in survival method, they instinctively find a way to get parents to give up and give them what they want.

It has no evil intent, that doesn't even occur to them, they just have quickly figured out how to get what they want by sensing the emotions of those closest to them. That time it was by favoring the Father... you can bet that it happens on the other end as well which is why the Father gets her more things then he normally would. Competition!

That's a good point, too....how often is she telling daddy she wants to go to mommy's house because he won't give her what she wants? Daddy doesn't have such and such and won't go out and get it for her...I wanna go to mommy's!!

If the carwash is one where someone else pressure cleans your car then I am with you both.
If it's an automated one then :in pain: I would never use one of them especially if it's a new car ...
I just think it's kind of silly to be offended by how someone else chooses to spend their time or money. Ok, if you don't want to use YOUR money to go to a car wash, fine....but why shouldn't I? It's like being offended because someone orders something different than you in a restaurant. I don't like fish, so that would be a waste of money for me. But I wouldn't think it was stupid for someone else to order fish if that's what they prefer. If you aren't the one paying for it, why does it matter what someone else does with their money? I buy the pre-chopped lettuce at the store. Yes, I could buy a head of lettuce and chop it myself, but I have a job where I'm on my feet all the time and I get home and I'm exhausted. And I hate chopping! It might cost more to buy the pre-cut, but it's worth it to me to not have to spend more time on my feet doing something I hate. Call it lazy, but life is too short to worry about that if you can afford it. I have enough work without creating more for myself. If I can pay someone else to wash my car for me so I don't have to try to fit it into my schedule, heck yes I am going to do it. It baffles me that @StarWarsGirl would need to justify to her dad how she spends the money the SHE earns at HER job, for HER car. That's the kind of thing that used to drive me nuts about my mom. Just because YOU prefer a certain way doesn't mean that's right for everyone, or that someone else's way is wrong because it doesn't work for you. Live and let live.

Thank you sir. You were an inspiration.

I'm not judging how she chooses to spend her money on washing her car. I just hear so many horror stories about automatic ones I wouldn't use one. No judgement. It only takes me about an hour to wash and polish my fiat so that gets done by hand. The work car goes in for someone else to do it. So I am full in agreement she should spend her money how she wants.
Sorry if I came across judgemental. Wasn't my intention.

Thought that was only for AK. Are they getting rid of the paper straws as well?
To be honest, I never really saw anything official about it other then AK was changing, but, since then it has taken on a different life and it has been said, by posters, that it is going to be resort wide, which makes sense in a way because there is wildlife all over the place. It has also expanded into covers, which I don't remember seeing anyplace other then random posts. It might have been mentioned as a news item, but, if so I didn't see it. I also don't see a kid being able to handle a cover-less cup so I sincerely doubt that one. If it's true, I also doubt that it will be an ongoing move.
