There was one open on Route 9 in Freehold NJ the last time I traveled that area...maybe 2 months ago. I can't be sure if they are still open.

This concept of a variety of food....all you can eat is very popular on cruise ships. I don't understand why it is not popular on the land????Nice story. And as you allude to, your experience at the buffet is exactly recent. So.... This illustrates why these businesses are closing. Not enough people appreciate fried chicken, mashed potatoes, baked beans, mac and cheese, pizza slices, spaghetti, a salad bar and a variety of desserts. All you can eat...for a set price.
................I personally like that a lot but there are not enough "Steves" to keep them in business

I get comments, nothing negative, about me bringing lunch to work every day. Random people are shocked that I do that apparently. I tell them it is less costly and healthier.
However, I am shocked that those co-workers can make it to work and get "work coffee". I am like, how can you do that? I have to get my coffee right after waking up or I am like a zombie for the rest of the day. That and why work coffee? You know how that stuff normally taste. Smells good, taste bad.

Some of us need coffee when we wake up, on the drive to work, and then upon arrival to work.
They sound normal to me!
I’m surprised that packing lunches is shocking though, with as many people who are on so many diets/lifestyle/meal prep these days I think it has become extremely common.

I drink coffee at home and pack another cup and half in my thermos for the drive and to drink at work.Used to be 'Gotta have my Pops'. Now it's 'Gotta have my Coffee'.

Happy Anniversary!!!!!!!!!!So today is a special day. Our 38th Anniversary. We already talked this morning and other than a harrowing experience driving through a flooded road last night, DH is doing well. Nine more days until our Disney trip. I cannot wait. We gonna need some down time!

I've always been a little wary of Pizza connoisseurs . It's Pizza! It is composed of crust, thick or thin, tomato based sauce, cheese and some toppings.Designer Pizza's are not pizza's. They are dried up slabs of crusty, charred something, with blotches of weird stuff semi covering the sometimes circular, sometimes square surface that is basically tasteless, over priced and oh, so in.
Not good tasting, good for you are even identifiable in some cases, but, the in crowd dictates there consumption. I've never been in with the in crowd and if I die tomorrow I will know that I have enjoyed most of my brief, but, decadent stay on Spaceship earth, with or without the Phoenicians help.
I’ve never found a chain pizza worth a nickel. The worst mom & pop joint in Jersey is better than rubber cheese Domino’s.
A lot of people consider buffets dirty, and some are. And even the ones at Whole Foods are dried out and kind of nasty by dinner time.
We have a couple of good Asian ones (had lunch at an Indian one yesterday.)
We did Golden Corral several times (the first two times up on 192.) Then B got hired as a manager there. He lasted about 3 days of training, said he couldn’t believe the working conditions. We haven’t gotten around to going back since.
I have to say, it’s a great way to catch a cold, with hundreds of people at a time grabbing the same serving spoons over and over...
No coffee. Ever. No crutches.

Well, here may be a reason. Someone I know told me that when they went to the Golden Corral that used to be by me, a kid was putting his hands in the chocolate fountain and then licking it and then put it in again. I am guessing there may be a germ issue. That would be my problem, aside from the fact that I just don’t eat that kind of stuff anymore.
