I came online to ask people if you like Home Town Buffet or Old Country Buffet? They seem to be going out of business everywhere in NJ. I liked the Home Town Buffet in Edison NJ. It's an hour from my home so we only go when we are in the area. Today we WERE in the area but it was out of business. We had to settle for Quaker Steak and Lube.
I would be hesitant to go out for a meal at a place that sounds like the title of a P**n movie! That would come under the heading of "Could you find company name worse then this one". :in pain::jawdrop::joyfull:

You too!
I love that zoo and need to get back more often. When I was in school my friend's father was the director so we got in for free:joyfull: We'd spend the morning there and sometimes go skating next door:inlove: I haven't been in quite a while:(
Our last visit was 8 years ago. They've added and upgraded a lot. My wife had a good time last night on Facebook. She presented photos of our daughter at that zoo at age 8 and now from yesterday at age 16. Fun collages!

.........those would turn me off a bit more ;)
.........................anyway, @Goofyernmost , I once had an amazing meal in Macon GA at a place called "S & S Cafeteria". There are a few in the south. Did you ever happen to eat there?

O.k. I've heard of Golden Corral, but never been to one of them either! Some of these chains pick specific areas to open up restaurants, and I'm thinking they're probably not so prevalent in city/urban areas -- probably more out toward the suburbs or country areas.
Golden Corrals main office is about three miles from my house. I really enjoy the place because of the variety and I have only once been unhappy with some of the food. It has things that you just don't find on the menu's of other restaurants. I go there when I have a desire for really good fried chicken. I have never found any better even in the high priced places. Ironically, that was the only item that I found bad one time. Not bad tasting, but, dry as a bone. Their chicken is usually moist and tender. That time it wasn't. I only go there about 3 times a year, but, when on a trip to WDW, I usually find a hotel on 192 close to GC. Breakfast there is incredible and inexpensive as is dinner. After spending half my kids inheritance for lunch in one of the parks, it is nice to give the wallet a break and have a good meal for a very reasonable price. I never leave there hungry.

There used to be a lot of Cafeteria's in the south. Years ago there was a really good one in Kissimmee, close to the town center, near where the Walmart is now. I think it was called the K & C Cafeteria? We ate all our offsite meals there. In 83 there was nowhere near the choices in that area and most of them were to the east of WDW. I don't remember all the names of places (Cafeteria wise) that we went to in our travels, but, I wouldn't doubt that I managed to get to one at some point.

For some reason the thing I remember most about the one in Kissimmee was that every single time time we were there at some point the song El Paso by Marty Robbins would be playing as background music. Sometimes twice in one visit. I'd spend the rest of the day with the words.... "Out in the west Texas town of El Paso" bouncing around in my head.

Good pizza is almost never available for delivery:joyfull:
I've always been a little wary of Pizza connoisseurs . It's Pizza! It is composed of crust, thick or thin, tomato based sauce, cheese and some toppings. :hungry: Designer Pizza's are not pizza's. They are dried up slabs of crusty, charred something, with blotches of weird stuff semi covering the sometimes circular, sometimes square surface that is basically tasteless, over priced and oh, so in. :hungover: Not good tasting, good for you are even identifiable in some cases, but, the in crowd dictates their consumption. I've never been in with the in crowd and if I die tomorrow I will know that I have enjoyed most of my brief, but, decadent stay on Spaceship earth, with or without the Phoenicians help.

Hey gang. Do we have anyone here who is knowledgeable about the rules of jury duty pools? I just served in February of 2017 and when I was dismissed they gave me a proof of service form and it says "retain for four years".

A few weeks ago, I got something in the mail notifying me that I had to send back a form registering for service. I thought it was a mistake but I sent the form back to them along with my proof of recent service.

TODAY, I get a notification in the mail that I've been chosen to be on call for service starting October 22. Huh?????

To add insult to injury, the courthouse they want me to report to is all the way in the middle of Long Island, over an hour from my apartment by train.

Does anyone know if this might have been an error? If I just served in 2017, why would I have to do it again in 2018?

Naturally, there is no number to call on the form.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

I don’t know about NY, but I received Jury Duty a few months ago here.. I faxed a letter explaining why I could not be away from work to do it.

I assume it is an error since I think you live in Queens County. You should only be called to serve in your county I believe. When I was called back when I lived in Queens, I had to report to the courthouse in Jamaica.

I think I went to an Old Country Buffet many years ago. Went to Quaker Steak once. Didn’t like it. My kids seemed to like it though.
