O.k. I've heard of Golden Corral, but never been to one of them either! Some of these chains pick specific areas to open up restaurants, and I'm thinking they're probably not so prevalent in city/urban areas -- probably more out toward the suburbs or country areas.
I agree my friend. Yet even in the places they were more common, the American comfort food buffets are closing. Chinese Food Buffets are hangin' in there. Interesting!

Any helpful information on this link for you?

That was actually extremely helpful. So there are only state and federal juries? Sorry to sound so dumb but if that's the case, I must have served on a state jury last year and now they are trying to say I have to serve on a Federal jury, but the website clearly says that if I served state within two years, I'm off the hook for federal. I hope I am reading this correctly. Anyway, thanks everyone for the help!

Wait a second -- no pizza place near you delivers?? :jawdrop: That's tragic. I can easily think of 5 in my area that do, and I don't even live in the larger cities around me.
I live in what I like to call sub-country. It's not quite country, not quite suburbs. There's a farm behind my house. I can hear the rooster on a daily basis. The goats have also made a jailbreak into our yard. At the same time, I'm still able to get to my company's corporate headquarters in less than 15 minutes. There's definitely areas in Maryland that scream rural, and mine doesn't quite fit the bill, but it also doesn't quite fit the suburban bill either. In part because of the escaped goats.

We also used to have Papa John's and Domino's. Our local Italian place has excellent pizza. Seriously, my friends who live in more suburban areas come here for pizza. You can go in and get pizza by the slice for $2-$3, or you can get an entire pie for $10-$15. They put the chains out of business. They don't deliver, but people don't care. They'd rather have the good pizza. Our local Chinese place is also very good. They've been in business since before I was born; I went to school with their kids.

We do have McDonald's, Bagelmeister, and Subway and Starbucks inside the grocery stores. Because we're not total hillbillies. Although out of those four, I only use the Starbucks.

Good, I was hoping that "something" on that site might help a bit, or at least put you in the right direction. Hopefully, you can either call or go there some day to get some clarification. Also, you know so many people through your playwright career--maybe ask around to see if someone you know is an attorney, or someone who may be familiar with the juror system in your state. Hoping for a positive outcome here for you.

I came online to ask people if you like Home Town Buffet or Old Country Buffet?
I went there many years ago back in 6th grade. The grade school I went to took students that were were to graduate from 6th grade there as a way to celebrate graduating from elementary school.

The elementary school in question now teaches students from Kindergarten to 8th grade instead of Kindergarten to 6th grade.

Nice story. And as you allude to, your experience at the buffet is exactly recent. So.... This illustrates why these businesses are closing. Not enough people appreciate fried chicken, mashed potatoes, baked beans, mac and cheese, pizza slices, spaghetti, a salad bar and a variety of desserts. All you can eat...for a set price.
................I personally like that a lot but there are not enough "Steves" to keep them in business:confused:

Oh, you won't be disappointed if you buy one -- they're so tasty, that you and hubs will be fighting over it! :p
When I was home by myself, I had a lazy night...I found a rotisserie chicken at the store that was $5 and all dark meat pieces. It came home with me; I whipped up some mashed potatoes and it was my dinner for two nights.

I went to one by Universal Studios in Orlando.

Food was ok, nothing amazing, but they had huge variety. Its like a smaller more compact version of Sirloin Stockade. Where they have "stations" with different types of freshly made food constantly.. and you serve yourself like its a buffet.
