YUP down hill from us. I don't think it will get serious but we've had a very wet summerand the rain seems to be heavy and steady.
THNX for the good wishes but my hand is a bit more mobile and he has some things to do himself as in his Christmas projects to get going on so I'm not sure how much togetherness there will be
You are absolutely right. Thank you for your support. I will pass it on. When you have hundreds of crews, they can’t get rooms ahead of time. DH says they just found out they have a room tonight in a different motel. I remember one storm when we first got married he had to sleep in this huge tent with a lot of other workers. They had traveling showers. It is really rough in storms like this. Gas was a problem today. They finally got a gas station up with a generator so the men could gas up. They sometimes travel 1 1/2 hours out of their staging area to put lines back up, then drive back that evening to get back so they can eat. Then see if they have a room for the night. My two cents: I think the company for @93boomer 's hubs "might" not have been able to do that. The reason is because with an area with so much damage, and in such a fluid set of bad problems popping up--even if they tried to find a motel, etc. prior to the crews heading down there--the motels may not have any power once the guys got there.
It's only my hunch, but I'm thinking that in these types of crisis situations, the guys are probably more on their own to secure lodging wherever they can find it--and the location could even move a few times, while they're down there.
(My thought here is that you and I naturally tend to think of normal circumstances, where a company may send workers, executives, etc. to meetings out of state--and they line up hotels and transportation for them, ahead of time.)
You see, this is why I have so much respect for these crews that head out into post-storm devastated areas. They really have to deal with a lot. They work some very long, hard hours, in some tough weather extremes.
He is well. Thank you! I have spoken to him when he gets cell service. They can’t get rooms ahead. Lots of crews from other states sometimes fill up the motels if they got there first and they have power. A lot of motels don’t have any power right now. But his company does let them know ahead that they may be sleeping in tough conditions. He was prepared to sleep in his truck if he had too. But, fortunately they did find a few rooms.I would have thought that his company would have found them lodging agead of time. Hope he is doing well and that you got to speak to him today.
Now you guys have me reconsidering this place. I always thought it would be just a more expensive Benihana.
Disagree. I love walnuts, right out of the bag!(Target has good prices on their bags.)
Flashback to you eating the grocery store rotisserie chicken in its container right off the bone. Still makes me giggle![]()

Last summer when we had the tornado blow through here they sent trucks from surrounding states. As we would see them arrive it gave everyone warm fuzzies. Everyone we passed we thanked for traveling to help
In WDW for Hurricane Irma days before she blew in trucks from states far away were staged in anticipation of Irma. They were housed and fed at Disney resorts. Thankfully for guests and CMs there were very few power issues on Disney Property and the trucks were dispatched throughout Florida that lost power. But it was a sight to see a sea of power trucks at Epcot. And a comfort to guests like...we gotchua

As I was reading, for a minute I thought you got hurt, but thank goodness it was just a building. Hopefully the damage gets fixed quickly.
On the bright side, you won’t fall behind on a project.![]()
Half day Tuesdays! I think you should suggest to your boss to make this a weekly "thing" to go along with Half day Fridays! That would balance out the week, nicely.![]()
