I just don’t understand it. You would think it was hitting tonight! My DD saw a guy fill a cart full of batteries. What the heck is he going to do with that many batteries?? She did find gas at Sheetz but said two cars in front of her put $5 of gas in their tank. Why???

A cart full of batteries isn't for personal use. It's a strategy for bartering if things go sideways. When you're in a situation where cash is basically meaningless, you need to have what other people need so you can get the things you need.

Standard Hurricane Operating Procedure.

You might not lose water, but it may very well be unsafe, and you may have no way to boil it.

Don’t play with this. If you want to drive far away, you will need all the gas you can manage and then some. Last year at this time, most of Florida and southern Georgia were out of gas. People also use it to run generators.

“It won’t be that bad.” Until it is. It will be, somewhere. And you won’t know exactly where until the moment it happens.

Everyone should be getting enough food, water, and gas for 2 weeks in case you are in the zone that gets hit the worst. You won’t be able to replenish during or immediately after.

I work at an insurance company and we're already getting gas tankers positioned to move into the area. Word on the street is this is expected to be HUGE with a lot of loss (property only though, hopefully, no lives).

I'll never forget getting a phone call from a friend who saw the first plane hit right when it happened. I still can't drive down 280 and not get a funny feeling in my stomach:(
I was working at the time in Central Jersey(where we were living). The tv was on in the office and I was told to go to it. As soon as I saw the plane, I knew that it was an attack. I then called everyone I knew that worked down there. It was crazy. I found out one person I knew was supposed to be in one of the towers, but because she wasn't feeling well she stayed home. Everyone else was safe. My obgyn at the time had to deliver the baby of a woman whose husband perished in one of the towers just a few weeks later. Still brings tears to my eyes.

@Goofyernmost do you still have a transistor radio. If so put batteries in it. That may help with the boredom once you survive the storm:joyfull:
Sorry to say, I no longer have a transistor radio, but, if all else fails I'll just watch television by candlelight! Hopefully, they will show reruns of the original Mickey Mouse Club and I can watch it while eating my Fluffernutter Sandwich. :hilarious::happy::joyfull:

I saw Harry Potter fabric at Joanne's a couple of weeks ago. It was the Deathly Hallows symbol one. Is that what you got?
Shhh this 1536758403794.png I've all ready got the pull overs done except for the hemming, I left extra length on the sleeves and bodies and will hem Christmas week. If I have time I may get some Marauder's Map fabric and make long sleeve T's. I'm still looking for striped fabric for the ties
