When I'm making dinner I set up my lunch and my husbands as well for the next day. I also prep my coffee machine for the morning too, it has a timer so when I'm get up in the morning I awake to the smell of my coffee. :)
That's a good system. My system last year was to make the sandwiches after dinner while my wife begins washing the dishes. Then when I'm done, I wash my hands and I dry the dishes. This year should be exactly the same. I just have to lock back into the old routine ;)

@MiunnieM123, don't you leave for work somewhat early in the morning? How do you "handle" lunch?

Yupper -- I leave anywhere from 6:50 - 7:05 AM. Time to leave just depends on whether I get an express highway bus, or a local bus to a train connection.

As for lunch, I don't think about it until it's time for lunch. Then I go to the cafeteria at work, and they cook things there, and they put it on a plate for me. :joyfull: Works out fine. It would be better if I didn't have to pay them, though.

That's great Minnie :) works for you ;) Yet for us...If my daughter and I bought lunch at our different schools every day that would add up. Happily though, we DO buy lunch one day each week and bring our lunch the other four.

The oil and computer industry in Austin are a good thing apparently. We just had to purchase a new fridge and I wasn't that thrilled with the $2200 price. It is pretty though, 4 doors on it. And it was over $1000 off. Thanks you Lowes. ;)

Nice deal!!! :)
Mostly high tech...not even really sure how much oil money is in this part of Texas anymore...I, mostly, associate that with more iconic Texas cities like Dallas and Houston.
We do, however, have those 2 family wells in south-central Texas, but, oil hasn’t exactly been sellin’ at top dollar for quite some time now...!!! ;)

Wow, they chat with you, too?
That's what I did today. I was in a chatty mood so when I got to the person that was doing the paperwork, we started just shooting the bull about the weather, the mutual fact that both of us were bald. He told me how much he admired Michael Jordon because he could shave his head and be in style. I told him how that didn't work for me because if I were to shave my head all anyone would have to do is draw a few lines down around my head and I'd look like a basketball. We had a lot of laughs and I made sure that I thanked both he, and the lady at the front desk that was instrumental in getting me taken care of quickly. Sometimes it just pays to be polite, calm and supportive of what they have to deal with day after day. The guy doing the paper work regaled me with stories of times when he was giving road tests and the stupids that he had to deal with. Someone actually went through a red light and then got mad because he didn't pass the test. He thought that it was only one red light and that wasn't a big deal. So actually, what everyone else considers to be terrible, I found to be fun. Course one does have to consider that I don't get out much.

You have a good system. And for me, as for buying lunch daily, that's my main meal of the day. I just sort of snack at night--no actual "meals". I think when you have a family such as yours, you need more structured meals (that's how I grew up, too).

However, as an adult, I got away from eating full meals at night. So sometimes I think the money part "might" sort of balance out in the end, because I'm not buying extra groceries for home use, because I'm not eating full meals, 3 times a day--only 2 meals a day at home, and those 2 are more like snacking only. Especially in the summer, my appetite really slows down.

No doubt it does work for some people, and I think the biggest draw for it is the "all inclusive" part. If I stayed at a WDW hotel, I might be tempted to try it, but I don't eat nearly as much as they have on that plan (especially in the heat down there--I don't do big meals at all), so I just pay out of pocket. (I mostly do QS locations in parks, and reasonable cafeteria style restaurants in hotels. I never stay more than 4 nights, so it's no big deal.)

I’ve posted this here before, but, the only 2 times I felt the DDP was worth it to our family of 6 (including SonIL ;)) was when I got it with my 50% Disney Store CM discount in the summers of ‘12 and ‘13. It was right at $60 then, and we got it for $30...it was the snacks, QS, TS plan (that plan is now $75.49 per day...!!!!! :cyclops:).
I would order $30+ entrees most every night at our TS, so that right there was my $30 for the day, making the snack and QS gravy...! :)
No way would it have been worth $60 a day for us, convenience or not. Plus, it was just waaayyyyy too darn much food. And, I normally don’t even eat dessert, but, had it at every TS on both trips...I ate more desserts during those 2 week-long trips than I did in the entire year before each...!!!!! :hilarious:
Although, that record has since been broken on our December and July cruises...!!!!! :D;)
We ,originally, thought about not doing it again on our ‘13 trip, but, for only $30 we decided WTH!!!
Other than those 2 trips with my CM discount, we have always just eaten QS on the fly, and only made a coupla TS ADRs for a week-long trip to celebrate something. I don’t normally even eat breakfast when we’re there, other than a juice or V-8. We can easily split QS meals with no complaints of going hungry, and would definitely save a bunch of $$$ over $60, much less the $75+ that that plan is now...!!!!!
But, as you posted, whatever works...different strokes for different folks...!!! ;) :)

It really depends on how you choose to use your points and if your husband orders the most expensive thing on the menu. We really did come out ahead last time. It was flower and garden and we used most of our snack credits to eat around the booths for lunch one day.. that took care of a lot of them!
