You may want to price out your meals to see if the DDP is worth it for you. You may be better off getting discounted gift cards to pay for your meals because you almost never come out close to even with 2 credit meals

When we were there in may, we came out ahead with the DDP, and I prefer the "all inclusive" feel. I don't like counting my pennies the whole trip wondering if I'm going to make it to the end of our stay.

Oh I am... every once in awhile while we are walking, I throw in a "last time we did table service every night, would you want to do that again?" And he responded that he thinks he'd rather to a few 2TS meals and not a TS every night. Trying to figure out how I'm going to work that out with the DDP without having to pay a bunch out of pocket.
You could do table service meals that take 2 table service credits and that way you wouldn't have to book every night. A dinner show takes 2 credits. Hoop-de-do is awesome!

James is done for the day except for a couple of videos he has to watch which aren't posted yet:cautious: We should make the pool opening today and be able to spend most of the day there if not:grumpy::grumpy::grumpy: it may be the last day it's open where it will be warm enough to swim:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:
The like is for James getting done early. They can sometimes accomplish so much more at home.

You can use your MB and pay off each night with the gift cards. I'm not sure if you can load them. You'd still be pre paid just in another way. I came home with money last trip:joyfull: either way I'm sure you'll have a great time

This way isn't for me... I don't want to think about money for food once I get there. I also like all inclusive resorts when traveling.

I agree. Both trips where I've actually had to pay for my own food (my parents are nice people) I made a budget and actually went under my budget, even though I was only half worried about how much meals cost.

I dislike the inflexibility of the dining plan. No alcohol, no appetizers...and sometimes I go to a restaurant and order only appetizers, and because of my food allergies, it's rare that I order dessert. Don't feel too sorry for me on that one; I lost 10 pounds on my last Disney trip.

But anyway, we typically just throw in some less expensive TS locations along with the nicer ones and don't fret about the cost.

in 2018 they added alcohol (1 drink per meal) to the dining plan. Also, my husband always orders the most expensive thing on the menu... ALWAYS.

I hadn't heard about it until I went to DMV a few weeks ago.
By coincidence, I went and got mine this morning. I lucked out and had some very nice DMV employee's that pushed me through in front of a lot of people. Seems all I had to do to get that service was be nice to them. Sort of a "Real ID" Fastpass. Who knew? I even got a new picture on my Drivers License that didn't look like I was a serial killer escapee from a maximum security facility. Good day all around.

We have applied our gift cards at check-in at WDW, usually for the room cost and then just use Magic Bands. My goal is next time we go to WDW to have enough discounted gift cards to cover it all. We could have in the past but I kind of forget about it until it is almost time to go. So now whenever hubs goes to Sam's Club he is supposed to come back with $150-$300 in Disney gift cards.

One thing that I'm slow in adjusting to thus far is preparing lunch in the evening so it is ready to grab in the morning.
I drive my daughter to school. She takes the bus to get home. We leave home every morning at 6:40am. When school is not in session we just organize our lunch.....well....at lunch! ;):hungry:

No doubt it does work for some people, and I think the biggest draw for it is the "all inclusive" part. If I stayed at a WDW hotel, I might be tempted to try it, but I don't eat nearly as much as they have on that plan (especially in the heat down there--I don't do big meals at all), so I just pay out of pocket. (I mostly do QS locations in parks, and reasonable cafeteria style restaurants in hotels. I never stay more than 4 nights, so it's no big deal.)

Yah, it's a pain in the butt to renew now. You have to bring all kinds of ID with you like a SS card, birth certificate or passport, plus other stuff (check your local state's web site for this), and it's really slowed down the process at the Registries.

Not looking forward to renewing mine and having to get the Real ID -- but it's important if you fly anywhere. Like I said, we have a waiver in my state until Oct., 2020, but everyone will eventually have to get this new ID.
