@21stamps How are you and T doing? Did you start the new job yet?

We’re doing good thanks! I fell so behind in this thread I feel bad posting because I’ve missed so much!

Yes, I started my new job. The longer commute kind of stinks, I realized that I have a few extra taxes now ... but besides that I think it will be great!

I’m trying to be smart about my bonus.. as much as I want to put it towards a trip, I’m going to do the responsible thing and put it in savings. I had enough expenses this summer with the bathroom remodeling and new front doors. I decided that I can’t take the baseboards and doors anymore so now all of them are being replaced to white.

Paging @Tony the Tigger how are you holding up in the storm. Stay safe my friend

No issues. We didn't even know about it until we woke up, have been having regular thunderstorms lately. Thanks for checking in! It's actually passed us within the last hour.

Thinking about a road trip Wednesday. It's B's only day off and our anniversary is Friday.

Leaning towards renting a convertible and taking it to Islamorada for lunch and coming right back. Then again, it's 2 hours to Islamorada - only one more hour to...

I had that situation last year. If you're lucky he'll be conservative re. changing things. Sometimes year two can be when then actually shake things up.

Thanks, he says he doesn't plan to change much this year, and he hasn't yet. Although he wants us to turn in weekly lesson plans, I haven't done that in 8 years, our old principal never asked for them as long as our curriculum maps were up to date. So we'll see how it shakes out.

Good luck tomorrow.

Thank you!

Glad no issues from the storm--I just saw something on that weather system, on the midday news. As for Islamorada, I had a boss once who had a gorgeous home down there--place was paradise. Happy anniversary to you two.

Last day before the start of schcool:inlove::banghead::joyfull::brb::inlove::cautious:

Best of luck to the children starting up school for the fall, and to the parents who are adjusting their own schedules for work, daycare, etc.

The only thing I don't like about the kids returning to school, concerns my usual workday morning commute. When you add kids & young adults who are unfamiliar with public transit, and it takes them forever to figure out the payment system on the bus & trains, it really slows down the commute. Sometimes I miss my train connection due to these delays. This all straightens out within a month, once everyone has figured out their routine, but man, I hate September!! :banghead:

Good luck to you in your new job; once you get past the first month, you'll be a bit more relaxed. :)

Why don't people in your area call the cops? (I don't know the law in your state about fireworks, but there must be a noise ordinance that can be enforced late at night, right?)

I believe it is a manpower issue on holidays. So many calls, so many different things happening, the priorities usually win. DUI's, Drunk domestic issues, crashes usually win in our community of noise.

Is it just me or are people recklessly crazy on the roads this Labor Day? Today,we saw one NJ woman who was driving alone and texting . :oops:She drove off an interstate and into a guard rail. Luckily she lived. Then I saw a couple of traditional 2 vehicle crashes as well. Although today I just took my "girls' to the outlet.....I felt grateful to make it back alive

This Rick's Cafe might have been interesting too! :D Casablanca is a great movie! Here are a couple pictures from the Rick's Cafe in Negril. The place is also known for great sunset views.

Beautiful!!! Love it...!!!!! :inlove: :)
Definitely on the list now...!!! :)
Would LOVE to retire to someplace like that in the future...!!!!!

But, for now anyway, we’re gonna’ hang where we are! ;)
Fortunately, The Oasis is only about 7 miles down the road, so only about a 10-15 min. drive, depending on traffic and how many lights we hit...!!! :)

We have 3 school districts along my commute route to the office. One starts, the other about a week later, and the other a few days after that. They’ve all been back for about a coupla’ weeks already, and woof! the traffic is crazy again!!! :bored:
Not like I don’t know it’s comin’ and prepare my commute timeline accordingly, but, still doesn’t make it totally painless...!!! ;)
