We made our way to the gift shop and looked around. My 2 youngest ended up getting sun hats in their favorite colors. Funny thing is is that they each were wearing dresses in the others favorite color.

The first stop was the rose garden.

Cool pictures of the gardens. :inlove: And of the timelines. Funny about the colors on the hats and dresses, they were well color coordinated though.

I wake up and just peek in here, and it appears another member took a shot at my entire family?
And, from a coupla’ pics of which said member has no context of? 2 pics that were taken less than a minute apart from a 1.5 hour visit? 2 pics of some of my family members on their phones looking up the history of the establishment we were at for further discussion?
I hope I’m wrong, but, I doubt it.

I’m in awe of twits. Especially, twits that call other people twits, who, themselves are actually the biggest of twits. But, that’s what twits do...because, well...they’re twits.

Hubs and I have a quasi-no phone rule. We don't take phone calls (even on our house phone) or texts during meals (unless there is an emergency or hubs might be expecting a medical update on a church member). But often times when we are out something will come up in discussion and we will look something up on the phones, kind of like you were talking about. It can add to our discussion.

This reminds me a little of when I was a kid. My father had a home office, and his desk had the usual office supplies, including postage stamps.

Sometimes, I'd like to write a letter to my cousins, and I'd go to my father's desk drawer and take a stamp. But I couldn't just take it (as that would be tantamount to stealing), so I'd leave the change in the spot where the stamp was . . . :inlove:

Only problem was that it was his last stamp. He asked who took his last stamp, and I said I did, but left him the money. (So in "kid logic" I kep thinking he was over-reacting, and what was his problem -- couldn't he just go buy himself another stamp?! :hilarious: )

So Gabe, I was just as guilty as someone in your family, but at least I left the change! :p P.S.: I was probably about 7 at the time. We had a post office about a 20 minute walk from the house, but I was too lazy to walk down there--when there were (usually) bountiful stamps already in the house?! :joyfull:
I remember getting in trouble here and there for things like that being kinda blindsided, like wait what????

I think it is wonderful that your dd loves playing trombone. You wouldn't think adults would be so rude. Good thing you told him off.
Where do you think their kids learn it? Unfortunately, I see a LOT of rude adults setting bad examples for their kids. When DS was in 2nd grade, parents were invited to sit in on the first 45 minutes of school for their child on one of several dates. (They did this every year, but DS's 2nd grade year was the rude woman) So I was sitting in the back with a couple of other mothers and another mother showed up LATE, disrupted the whole class when she came in. She came and sat by me and proceeded to gossip about the kids in the class. One boy had started crying, I don't know why, but the mom leaned over and whispered to me that her daughter had told her that boy cries EVERY DAY about stupid stuff. It wasn't my son, but I kind of think she got my son and this other boy mixed up....both light brown hair, freckles, etc and DS did indeed cry a lot. So I just told the woman how sad it was for that boy....that it couldn't be fun to live like that. She looked so shocked that I didn't start ragging on the "crybaby" and went "Oh...um....yeah." and shut up for the rest of the time we were there.

I was soooo tempted to lean over to her and point to her daughter and tell the mom that my daughter had told me that girl is late every day and she says mean things about other kids. But considering they had come in together, it was obvious I knew that was her daughter, and I didn't think I should stoop to her level, so I kept my mouth shut. But that girl was repeating the 2nd grade...she had been in DD's class the year before and had told DD she was fat and wore "baby earrings", etc. Apparently saying gossiping was an inherited trait. She wasn't a very nice little girl, but with a mom like that, she couldn't really help it.

Oh forgot to say that dd made $59. Youngest was with us and the little stinker wanted to be paid for her time. She said she wrote down the orders and bagged, and she handled some transactions. I offered her $10, and she said $25. :hilarious: I told her $10 and a milkshake. She wasn't thrilled, but realized she had no choice.
Wow....that's not bad for a few simple crafts!! My kids' school did a Christmas market a few years ago and we were asked to make cupcakes to sell (I have a reputation for baking nd cupcakes were just starting to become a "thing" here.) and we made over 100 and were sold out. We also made some wish bottle necklaces and sold out of those as well. I have no idea how much we made because the money went to buying some playground equipment, so we didn't actually see the money.

@figmentfan423 One of my girls wants to be a peacock, one a bat, and one a steam punk person. Any ideas? Joannes has tulle on sale, and flannel.
For the steampunk person: Like @figmentfan423 said, accessories are a biggie. The main outfit could probably be made out of things already owned (with the exception of a corset or belt). Some inspiration:

What are wish bottle necklaces?

No
So here are pictures from our day in Hershey.
The Gardens are up on a hill that are right across from Hershey Park, so you get a nice view.

They built a new conservatory that openend in 2016 so I knew we hadn’t been since 2015, because we never saw it. It houses a now all year Butterfly exhibit. They used to just have a summertime exhibit like Minnie’s Butterfly Garden. It will be nice to see butterflies in the winter now.

Well you know how girls can be. Now she is saying that she may not want to dress up. She just wants to make a hat. The plan was to go to Hershey Park for their Hershey Park In The Dark in October. That was a way for the kids to wear costumes and trick or treat in a designated area. Oh well, she can do what she wants, we will still go anyway. The 2 younger ones will still dress up.

My tiny 7 year old wants to do Super Dooper Looper. I hope she is still too small. I don’t like rides that go upside down without a shoulder harness. I understand physics, but physics doesn’t work if a ride gets stuck. Yes, very over protective even with number 4. ;)
