On a serious note here tonight. I'm begging you and everyone you know to NOT be talking on your cell phone while driving a vehicle. I almost got killed tonight by a huge SUV that came right AT ME while I was walking IN THE CROSSWALK.

I had just gotten off the bus, and was crossing the street, when an SUV cut the corner and sped right at me, while the driver (a woman in her 20s) was on her PHONE and NOT LOOKING. I ran and missed the front of the vehicle by less than an inch (I still don't know how I outran it). I was screaming at her as she went by, and a man on the sidewalk was also yelling, as he saw what happened. Worst part was that I don't think she was even aware of what she nearly did--her windows were up and she was on the phone. I was shaking walking home.

Wow, those tacos look yummy. But the beer flight....how can someone work at a beer stand and not know what the beers are? How does one get what they order? That doesn't seem like he's very competent.
Just out of curiosity, have you ever had Shullsberg cheese? My cousin owns the Shullsberg creamery. Well, my cousin's husband. I don't like cheese unless it's melted, so I've never had it, but my mom and my brother used to LOVE the cheese curds when we visited. I vaguely remember touring the factory when I was really little, and the only thing I remember is that I thought it smelled horrid.:joyfull:

The guy that served it to me was young, it was probably the first one he had poured. When I asked what they were and he said he didn’t know, I heard another worker kind of reprimand him and tell him he needed to tell people which beer was which. It was ok, had I chosen a more interesting beer flight it would have been easier to tell them apart.

I think I have bought shredded schullsburg cheese at my grocery store. It melted pretty good. That’s cool that you know who owns it. Touring a cheese factory can be a little stinky, sometimes it can smell sour and sweaty. Which is not appealing.

Oh and the tacos were great! It was our favorite new food at the fair.

@ajrwdwgirl , those were really fun pictures of the fair! I love country fairs and haven't been to one in quite a while. I was also amazed at the food -- tater tots wrapped in bacon and a cheese dipping sauce with it?!! Oh GOOD LORD!!! :hungry: :hungry: :joyfull: :joyfull:

Oh the tots with bacon were really good, the cheese sauce was made with real cheese not plastic cheese so it was almost like a cheese soup. It had been 3 years since we last went to the State Fair, but after this visit we might have to go back next year. My family used to travel to this State Fair all the time when I was a kid, it is so much closer than the Wisconsin State Fair, but I have been to that one and the Iowa State Fair too. I like Minnesota’s better.

Oh my! I am so glad you are safe and you had the presence of mind and ability to dodge such a careless driver. Again I’m so glad you are safely home friend! Have some snuggles with jack!

See, I knew I liked you! Bingo, such a simple game but also exciting! Especially when I'm only a couple of numbers away from winning!

Indeed!!!
I got within 2 numbers from winning $800 on the cruise the afternoon of our last sea day...! :bored: ;)
But, we used to, occasionally, go play with my MIL many years ago, and I won $500 twice during that time!!!!! :joyfull:
Yes, very exciting, but, so frustrating when you’re only a number or two away and on the next call someone else yells “Bingo!!!!!!!” :hilarious:
