Everybody I know is safe and away from the flooding. @MySmallWorldof4 and @SteveBrickNJ I hope the same goes for you.
No flooding in my neck of the woods. There is rain out there somewhere and we had a little yesterday. Nowhere as much as you got. Times like these make me grateful that we chose a house that was the highest point on a hill. Great views and no flooding. Hope your family stays safe.

My phone and computer both made a noise I never heard either make before. Let's just say it was loud and annoying and I'm lucky not to have to replace both. Anyhoo it was for a severe flash flood warning. I'm home on top of the hill on top of the mountain. Hello computer, unless the whole state is under water don't bother me:grumpy: At this point I may as well stay up, get everybody up and ready to go and then try and sleep. Everything is getting shut down except for the land line
Do you have a UPS or a regulator ?
That is a must if you live in a place where power can go down or gets flooded.
A power surge can kill your phone or your PC.

Don't worry our backups have backups. Even my stove, fridge, dishwasher, washer and dryer and such have assorted shut downs. We only replace once an item has been worn out. My dh is a tech head so handles that;)

I am currently stalking a homeschool literature curriculum for my older 2. The set new costs almost $400. Someone who used it last year is selling it with a starting bid of $50 on Ebay. There is one bid and the item ends in less than an hour, so I am watching it and hope to put in a winning bid in the last minute. Part of me feels guilty of doing it and the other part is saying "well, Ebay makes the rules and I am simply following them". I could sell my younger 2's set from last year, but when I was cleaning the bookshelves yesterday they said they wanted to read the books again.

I lost. :( Got overbid by a fellow stalker.
