I think the best part, especially for me regarding my kid, is ordering whatever you want and not even glancing at prices.

We thought we would eat at a lot of specialty restaurants, but never found the time.. only Margaritaville for an afternoon snack.. this table belonged to just me and T.. we ate, a lot. 😂

T’s go-to appetizer every night, even when it wasn’t on the menu- salmon tartare. One night he couldn’t decide between that or sushi, so the waiter brought him both appetizers. He finished both plates!

This is at a 24 hour bar-type restaurant
Probably midnight here-

We've been up since 6, just got home a few minutes ago, decided to relax for a bit and finally let my kid see Black Panther.

I’m regretting it. We’re 20 minutes in and there’s a lot of violence. Not fantasy Star Wars type violence, it’s guns and also a girl giving the middle finger. This is why we don’t watch Marvel movies.

Everyone told me that this is “OK for kids his age.”
I should have stuck with my gut. :(
Trying to decide if I want to turn it off. Does it get worse?

It's been awhile since I've seen it, but I think the violence stays fairly central to the storyline.

Yup, theres def graphic violence, some blood and stuff.
Also indirect mention of drugs.

Note to self- don’t give in to peer pressure.

All I’ve ever heard is people raving about this movie. All of T’s friends talked about it, ‘everyone’ went to see it on opening weekend.. I stuck to my guns.. but, still see so many people say how wonderful it is. Parent friends said “oh it’s fine!” Succumbed to the pressure.

Definitely not fine, but I’ve let it continue to play, which is all on me. Once it’s over I’ll be back to my “No Marvel” rule.

You might want to stick to Big Hero 6 as your Marvel film for awhile. Plus it is fantastic movie!

Yeah, they're all pretty graphic.

The next one to show him would be the newest Spiderman. Not nearly as violent, and the main characters are primarily high schoolers. Which helps. Lots of positive messages in that one too.

Have you ever used Common Sense Media? That site is pretty helpful as far as showing what movies contain and what the recommended age is.

The movie is good, just do not expect it to be E rated. it is not.
And like ALL super hero movies, they have all violence or some basic "adult" stuff.

At least it wasn't as violent or bloody as the Batman movies.
