With all the soccer talk lately, I thought I'd add a coupla' tidbits...
I heard on our local radio talk show on my commute home tonight that Austin is second, to only Washington, D.C., in the USA with World Cup TV viewership (can't remember hearing if that was per capita or overall).

The other thing, that's actually been in our local news for months now, is the Columbus (Ohio) Crew MLS team possibly moving here to Austin.
I've seen some stadium renderings in our local paper, and, I must say, it looks like it could be pretty cool.
That said, our city council is voting (I think tonight...?) in regards to the land that it was finally narrowed down to.
But, there is also, from what I hear, substantial pushback from Columbus to keep the team there.
Beyond the radio, I have done no more deeper research, so have no clue how this will all turn out.

@Gabe1 and @MOXOMUMD I hope today find you much better xoxo

Thank you. One is a matter of time. I don’t agree with the family heroes putting her through this. It’s time. The other is very much similar to @MySmallWorldof4 original waiting for surgery This one is difficult as mid July is the surgery date. When it is your kid you fret more I find.

That's interesting--I wonder why Austin has so many fans? (Side note: I have zero interest in soccer, but then again I don't watch an major league sports.) Also, I never grew up with soccer -- that was a game played by other countries, so it just seems so foreign to me. I know things have changed though, on the sports front in our country, and it's definitely gained more fans as time went on.

Anyway, hope your city does get the team, as there certainly are a lot of soccer fans there!

Hoping for positive outcomes all around. It's hard to wait for a surgery date. It will be easier, once the surgery is over with.

I will finish my mini-trip report with a few shots of our Friday morning at the Coronado and Disney Springs. We had a late check out, they granted us until 1pm to vacate the room. So we slept in and I got up earlier than her and took a walk around the property and had breakfast at the Pepper Market. Then a little after 9am I met her back at the room and we went to the Dig Site pool for a couple hours. I even went on the water slide a few times, it was short but fun.

This is the Ranchos section and I was really impressed with it. I liked the design and it made me think of Zorro and perhaps he was going to come riding by at any minute!
IMG_6423.JPGIMG_6424.JPG

And the construction, which I actually am a little sad about but mostly intrigued by. It should be interesting to see how it will look and fit into the theme once it is all done. You can tell the top where the restaurant is going to have some huge windows with great views. I wonder when I can make my ADR for it?!

After pool time we went over to Disney Springs for lunch. We are both big fans of Rick Bayless, but she had only bought his product in the grocery store and hadn't eaten in his restaurants even though she goes to Chicago a couple times a year. Anyway, Frontera had openings so that's where we ate.

They had the avocado margarita from La Cava so I ordered that. It tasted the same but was a little smoother and creamier than the one I had yesterday at La Cava, still excellent though. My friend got the Frontera margarita and liked it.

I got the short rib torta, very good and filling.
IMG_3164.JPG

Then of course there had to be a visit to Basin! Right @figmentfan423 , @Gabe1 and @dryerlintfan I left with several bath bombs including a special birthday cake scent one to use on my birthday. The pink one looked very Golden Girls-ish.

I actually wanted to eat at the Boathouse because even though I HATE seafood I loved the meal I had there in March. The burger and truffle fries were so good. My friend who loves seafood wasn't into eating here. But I had to take a picture of me out front to make Brad think we ate here and make him jealous. He was jealous and then I told him we went to Frontera instead and then he was relieved.

I already told you the story of my misadventures on the way back. But I thought this was kind of a cool picture out of the window at the Orlando airport.

And finally reunited with my luggage in Minneapolis on Sunday.

And just a few merch pictures because it is cheaper to take pictures of things I like instead of buy it all.

This actually isn't merch I could buy but it was something I saw on a girls backpack and wished I could have bought it. Growing up I collected all the Disney pin-back buttons I could and still get them when I can find them and this was a cool Fantastmic one.

I thought this was really cute in Canada.
IMG_2932.JPG

These were soaps in France, but I liked how they looked like cookies.
IMG_2946.JPG

Then some shirts in Italy.

I accidentally ran across to a pawn stars tribute to the old man last night on the History channel.

There is a couple things I think to needs to address for those saw it last. While there are pictures of the "old Man" with his 3 sons shown last night, he actually was a parent to 4 kids with his wife.

They did not show any pictures of the oldest kid at all based on what I saw of he special. I'm guess it is due to the Harrison Family not wanting to discuss anything about her due to how much it must of hurt the parents having their kid die at 6 years old.
What I know is she was born with down syndrome and developed other medical problems.

The old Man actually left the Navy in 1962, but he re-enlisted fourteen months later in order to obtain the health care benefits necessary to meet his daughter's medical needs.

The pictures they had a kid blurred out for a reason. One of their sons is a black sheep of the family and that son blurred out on picture is bad news to say the least based on what I read.
