Mother nature is decidedly evil.

I came in with AP World history, Spanish, English Lit, Macro Economics, and Micro Economics. I didn't do any math or science. They changed the Statistics exam and made it much harder. For the math and science majors, they make you retake certain AP credits, but they really don't care for business majors.

I still say it was worth it. For one, I'm a junior now instead of being a sophomore, and I got 15 credits, meaning I could graduate a semester early. That would be nice. I also think they really prepared me and that it factored in to my school's decision to give me a massive scholarship (otherwise, I'd never be able to afford to go there).

Yeah, my DD got out a semester early too but she really worked her tushie off to do so and came out the otherside still with a double major for all of her High School torture. She in retrospect wouldn't do 4 years of torture by most of these AP high school teachers (too much of the pile on work had nothing to do with what the test covered) to graduate one semester early. After being done she didn't think it was worth it minus the math 'cause that teacher was fair, gave a darn and it was her strongest subject.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Canada just fascinates me. I spend a lot of time reading about Canadian history and Canadian politics. My favorite class I ever took was a class on Canadian politics at the University of Ottawa.

Whether you agree with Jean Chretien's politics or not you've just gotta love the guy. He was a riot.

Hysterical. I had that same clip ready to link, and then just went with the quote instead.

Didn't like JC the PM, but I adore JC the person. He's very down to earth, funny, humble, and not afraid to laugh at himself.
At 81, his years left are probably few, and the obits will be mostly be kind. He was a very accomplished man, especially considering that he was the 18th of 19 children born to a family of very modest means. Whether or not he was a great Prime Minister, I cannot fairly comment, as my political slant is just a wee bit :hilarious: further right than his.
He wasn't as sexy and charismatic as Trudeau (who was?) but he was just as sincere and dedicated, and a whole lot more humble.

It only got to about 62 Friday (forecast hi was 79). Right now (Saturday) it is 55 (forecast high 71, low 56) and the forecast in the hi 70's for the next 5 days. The problem is that it is cloudy, and drizzle yesterday, and the temps aren't going up.
I haven't been to WDW for 2 years...long story, but I just got "disillusioned" after 8 years of AP. Didn't feel the experience was worth the money or the hassle anymore. I still want to go, but not happy with the parks right now. Maybe in a year or two, I'll start going again. So instead of Disney, this year we're taking about 6 weeks and doing the "Grand Tour" of the west....Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, etc.

Yesterday we broke through the freezing mark into the low 40s and I was a happy camper. We are over joyed with rumors of 50's this upcoming week but it was in the 30's today with some light snow. :cautious:

You are not alone with the state of the state of the parks. The MK is coming along, still major work to do but the hub over the last year was a nasty welcome to the park. Now gone but nets on attractions like Splash Mt and under the tree of life are enough to make us all annoyed.

Given you like camping and state parks it will be a great 6 weeks for you. Is the trip soon?

There are a lot of things I would disagree with Jean Chretien on, but I've got to hand it to him and Paul Martin for taking Canada from massive budget deficits to budget surpluses. No one thought they were gonna be able to do that.

I think it depends on a lot of things. My school had a really strong AP program, so I knew I was in good hands with the teachers.

And it depends on the class. History was not worth it, and that's why I only took one history class. English was almost easier than taking Honors (the level below) so why not? Spanish and economics were definitely worth it. Spanish because I went straight into Spanish 302 and did not have to take a placement test.

Economics was well worth it because it wasn't a ton of work and I got 6 credits for one year's work (3 for micro and 3 for macro). That one was definitely worth it. I knew I wanted to be a business major at that point, so I probably could use those credits, economics of some sort was a graduation requirement, and honestly, I think that class's workload was more comparable to a college class. One guy from the previous year came back and told us all to try in that class and take the exam. Said it was way worse sitting in a lecture hall taking it that taking it in a 30-person AP class (although lecture halls don't exist at my college. There probably would have been 2t people in that class, tops). So that was essentially take it senior year of high school and get slightly ahead, or take it in college. And I got a 5 on Micro.
