Your boss sucks. You are entitled to vacation time. Sorry, I know nothing and nobody in IT. Maybe @StarWarsGirl does.
Sorry, I really don't. My company isn't hiring, and the agency that hired me requires that you live in the US.

I'm sure @Cesar R M that you'll be fine. Skilled IT workers are always in high demand. No sense staying someplace that takes advantage of you. I hear ya, though; IT can be a completely thankless job.

They are, the problem is that they are horrible underpaid in my country. We , like artist, are seen as "mundane".

I've seen full blown IT jobs offers with who knows how many years of experience required, for a mere 300 USD a Month. Which is insane.

Yeah, yet who do they call when their technology stops working... 🙄

Wish it were easier for you to come to the US. Some skilled IT consultants can make $300 PER HOUR. I know; I've done the purchase orders for them. Median is about $82-$100 per hour. Lower end techs still make around $25 an hour, which isn't bad.

You'll find that to some extent anywhere you go, though. In a large company, IT is often the stepchild, underfunded because the company doesn't see why they have to fund a department that doesn't make them any money, yet when their technology doesn't work and we're backed up on tickets, they complain. Oh, and everyone who isn't in IT assumes that if you're in IT, you fix computers. I've gotten some nasty attitudes from people because they assume I'm the reason that their computer isn't as fast as they'd like or that their printer is broken...like, no. I cannot do anything about that; I have to call my own department if something happens and my technology doesn't work as well. I'm probably the person who told you that you cannot download something random from the internet and install it on a company PC, but other than that...

Thanks! :)
I do what I can. Back in the day I could have easily fixed the first 2 (and have). Most all cars were carbureted back then, and they were much easier to work on than everything, pretty much, being fuel injected these days.
Fuel pumps are all mostly electric and in the gas tank now, as opposed to being mechanical and mounted on the engine block. As well, the fuel filters are inline, and used to be in/around the carburetor and easily accessible.

Darn, I'm old...!!!!!!! :joyfull::hilarious::facepalm::hilarious:;)
Just got a text from youngest DD...#3 fuel injector kaput.
Oh...........joy. :bored:

;)

Hubs complains about a number of changes in the newer cars and he'd take an older car any day--even if it makes him OLD! :p He's saved us a lot of money through the years doing his own mechanics on the car. There are some things that he can't get to though, in the newer ones, and has to take it to a repair shop (where they have a lift, etc.) and let them fix the problem.

Bummer about your daughter's car. :banghead:

I know, what was the last straw as that one of the bosses tried to shift the blame to me claiming "I didnt tell him". which is pure BS. I told him 6 months ago, told him about my grievances 2 months ago, IN PERSON.
Next time have everything in writing. Verbal agreements can easily be forgotten out of convenience. That has happened with my dh in the past.

What a jerk he is, and now you're in a tough spot. I pray you can find a much better job soon with decent people. So sorry you're dealing with this mess. If I might share a tip (for the future), if you want something (vacation, etc.), always put it in writing (an email to the boss). It's also good to tell the boss (you did that), but I've found that bosses have "selective" memory for things like that. I got burned once using verbal communication only.

Welp, I guess I'm going to be out of a job.

Confronted my boss about the supposed vacation weeks he promised (which he broke). And now says I m holding him "hostage".

So yeah, I might be giving my adiuh and find my luck somewhere else even if it pays less until I get my bearings and get to my feet.

If anyone who works in IT knows a company that need a remote administrator.. I'm happy to try.
What a so and so. If I called the bleep what I really thought about somebody who does that I'd be banned. Sorry I can't he with the job hunt. Hopefully you'll get a much better job very soon.
