$500? Don't quibble over $500. I thought it was $1000 or more. Sell it on your own. Is $500 worth it for you to lose
a car that you love and most importantly need?
It's not. Which I thought about it on the way to work, and if they come back and say that $500 is the best they're doing, then we won't worry about it. Because honestly, that's their car. This one's mine. My dad was talking about delaying while he runs around to CarMax and all getting appraisals. I'm going to tell him no to that one, especially since I'm not even sure they wouldn't make me pay them back for the trade in.

Thanks...that was way higher. $1650 at the lowest point.
Wow that sounds really high!

Hang in there--it will happen . . . eventually . . . (Have to tell you, though, that I did smile when I read the above. All I could think of was the standard lawyer's mantra, "We could argue that . . . " ;) In other words, this might take a bit longer . . . )

It sounds like they’re working hard to earn customers, and I always feel like people deserve a bit of profit, or at least a break-even in any profession.

Any transaction works best when both sides get something out of it.. doesn’t mean someone should over pay, but it also means that the seller shouldn’t have to give up everything.

@StarWarsGirl If you’re happy with the car and price, just go for it. :)

Years ago at my old quilt guild we held a bingo night just for fun with a few different ways to play. I was the only one with a stack of cards which were well managed:joyfull: The running joke that night was "That's not fair she must be Catholic":angelic:

Ha ha! That’s funny!

CarMax almost always gives a little more for trade ins.. they can move their cars around the entire country where the type of vehicle may have a better market.
However, CarMax does NOT negotiate on their prices when you buy a car from them.
This, combined with nationwide, allows them to pay more for trades...because their profit is already built into the sale, every sale. CarMax has a brilliant marketing strategy, but it’s not as consumer friendly as it sounds from their adverts.
The Honda dealer did discount their car, and your trade in won’t be a retail unit for them, so there’s not a lot of leverage that you have in this scenario, that’s not being unfair to you, it’s just being fair to both of you.
They may give in just to be done with it, or they may just tell you “no” because the sale is no longer worth it to them. You’ll have to decide if they’re deserving of your business. It sounds like they’ve done a lot to earn it.

I’ll add an edit here and say - if you want to see what CarMax will give- as a purchase from you, not a trade in.. just sell the car to them if they’ll give you more... the amount they’re willing to purchase your car for, without buying one of theirs, is the only thing that’s relevant to your scenario.

Have you ever tried baked beets? They're almost as sweet as candy with a lower glycemic load:inlove:

I've had beet chips, it was mixed in with the Terra brand (I think that was the brand) veggies chips and they were really tasty as chips. Which then led me to think that I should give them another chance as long as they aren't pickled. I just haven't jumped into it yet.

Where will that be? I saw my newscasters mention it this morning but I forgot where they said it would be? I guess you had better start saving your money, T will probably want to go.

He begged to go to Russia.. North America would be a lot harder to say No to.. plus.. I want to go!!!

I don’t think they’ve announced the site yet.. I’m just thrilled that it will be on this continent:)
