The state of NJ requires students to be in the classroom 180 days. Our original last day was the 15th. Snow cancellations caused days to be added to make up for that.
I do NOT get paid in the summer. No work....no pay. So maybe it's good that I'm working until the 20th. :)We always get our last pay on the final day of school. ;)

We used to be 180 days and now it is by hours. Our salary is spread out through the whole year and I am very thankful for that. Sometimes I stray from the budget.;)

Numero Uno: Mrs. Steve wants me to receive the 12 month pay like you enjoy. Some towns in my state have it. My town likes it the way I described.
Numero Dos: If we had central air in all the buildings, I'd enjoyteaching in a 12 month school year. Under the Steve plan the school would close for part of the summer...part of the fall....part of the winter....part of the spring. The required days or required hours would be spread out over 12 months with generous breaks each season
I'm sure there must be towns in America that do that. I'll research it and then report back ;)

I'm back. One online article stated that 4% of US School Districts follow a 12 month school year. Hmm. Even 4% seems higher than I would have guessed.

Breathe. You are going to give yourself an ulcer. He will be fine. The kids are usually fine. It is the parents with the issues. 😉

I know you’re right, I just can’t handle a repeat of last year after he didn’t make the baseball team.. and I expect this would be amplified times 10.
It’s driving me crazy that I missed both tryouts. I know the people who took him were watching their own son, so I have no idea how he really did. Here’s what he said-

“I didn’t do too well Mom, especially after I slipped and did the splits. (Apparently that happened lol).. I didn’t cry, but my left ankle hurt after and I don’t think I played very good at the end. Actually, I made a lot of mistakes. I know they were mistakes, and I don’t know why I made them it’s like I forget for a second sometimes, my palms get sweaty. I’m still going to make the team though. I just know it. They’ll know that I wasn’t my normal self at tryouts.”

So I told him that at least he recognizes the mistakes, and can just keep playing until he’s so comfortable that his palms never get sweaty. I also told him that knowing that he made mistakes, he can’t be sure that he made the team. That there was a lot of kids. And even if he doesn’t make premier or elite ( I wouldn’t let him play Elite anyway, it’s full soccer only commitment, no other sports allowed).. or even if he doesn’t make Gold.. that if he can work on his confidence then he can try out again in the Fall, if he wants to.

His response-

“Mom. Why would you even say that? Of course I’m going to make Premier. There’s no other option. I don’t want to think about not making it.”

:(:(:(

I’m dreading the results.

There is no guarantee where you will be placed. We were lucky in that we were in a loop that was across from the Mercantile which is near the pool. There is a snack bar at the pool, but Trail’s End is by the lake. There is a food truck by the campfire which actually has a good menu. It is easier to take a golf cart to Bay Lake where you can then take the watercraft to MK, or WL, or CR.

I feel like I may have asked you this before.. if so- sorry for forgetting!- The mercantile I was at, is Trails End the restaurant across from it? Is the pool near there? I could see the beach and volleyball courts, but I’m not sure where Chip n Dales campfire is either, is that in the same general area?

Are the premium spots close to the cabins on the loop nearest the mercantile? If so, I think it’s probably doable without a golf cart. We rode bikes all thru there, the distance from stables to restaurant to beach wasn’t bad at all on bike, it would be walkable as well.. but I think there’s another restaurant that I didn’t see, and I’m not quite sure where the pool is located.

@MySmallWorldof4 will be able to give a better description of the property.
Never been there myself so I cant say they are. That is what I suppose considering the price increase.

My dad wants me to go to an Orioles game while the rest of family is gone. His reason? There's a Hawaiian shirt giveaway that night and he wants me to go get it.

I already was planning on going on the Friday night (this game's on a Saturday) because Friday nights are fireworks nights and the Orioles tend to win on Fridays (not tonight sadly...) plus Saturdays are the most expensive game of the week. I finally started telling him I would go if he would pay for me and a friend to go. So far, he hasn't taken me up on that...:hilarious: But he keeps bringing it up.

I also don't get it. This was the same man who was all nervous when I went down to Baltimore to see Lion King at the Hippodrome, but we HAVE to get the Hawaiian shirt, so let's not question it now...:joyfull:
