Not answering your question, but speaking as an assumption.. maybe someone thought my tournament reference was too much personal info? That’s the only thing I can come up with.

I wasn’t worried about that.. I didn’t post the name during the tournament, it was shown on the trophy after the fact though.

This tourney was comprised of teams from all over the US and Canada, it was played on 28 different fields in 3 different locations..games from 7am - 7pm on each field over a 2 day period, and from 4-7pm on Friday.

That was just the tournament we participated in. There were at least 2 more going on this past weekend within a 4 hour radius of where I live.

It would have been searching for a needle in a haystack to find my kid on a youth soccer team somewhere in Ohio, KY, or Indiana.
What a huge tournament to have won! Very impressive. :)

There may be a very real answer that I am totally unaware of, but, I sometimes think that people tend to go a little overboard on just how precise technology is. With enough information, it is capable of a lot of things, like on Facebook, for example where we use our actual names and pictures of our houses and ample references of exact location, but, on a discussion board that only uses screen names, no address other then cities or states, would be that needle in a haystack. Also how would anyone know, based on almost all the posts I have ever read, if someone is wealthy enough to go to all the trouble to kidnap someone. Seems like a big chance to take for possibly very tiny results.

Thanks!!! Although, in our division there was a total of 13 teams.

We have another big one this weekend, not as big as this past weekend though. I’m afraid the coach is setting us up for failure, but I’m trying not to think in a negative way! We’re playing up a year because he thinks it will make the play more competitive for the boys. (I’m not telling T!) This one has over 45 clubs from across the Midwest (Canada wasn’t invited ;) )

We actually have 5 soccer games this weekend Fri, Saturday, Sunday, and a baseball game early on Saturday. Going to be a busy weekend!!! I hope the coach made the right decision. It’s our last weekend of Spring soccer. Feels like it just started! :(

I can see how that would be a better deal for Disney in that there would be less waste, but I loved being able to bring all the unfinished ones home. I have a whole drawer full of them in my bathroom. Of course I have used the sales on ShopDisney to purchase the large bottles. For our upcoming trip we will be buying large bottles in the Mercantile, since we won't have housekeeping. Figure that the money we are saving on Mousekeeping tips will easily pay for the shampoo and conditioner.;)
I have a box I keep full of the shampoos and conditioners. I use them for DH if he goes out of town and give some as a set for nieces’ birthdays.

I don’t know. I guess there’s sick people out there.

Maybe not familiar with the size of KY, IN, IL, MI, OH? I’m being serious, because they aren’t really huge tourist destinations, so maybe people think they’re smaller areas than what they actually are?

Someone has a better chance of running into us at Kings Island than figuring out what soccer field we’ll be on., I can’t even keep up with the ‘where’. ;)
I'm not sure what you read into what I said, because I made no reference about state sizes other then even the smallest isn't that small if you're looking for one person and all you have to go by is a single picture from a discussion board or a team name when that are literally thousands of identical team names. Forget about states, the Raleigh area has 2.5 million people. If someone could find me with nothing to guide them other then the fact that I live in the Raleigh area and my screen name on WDWmagic.com is Goofyernmost, I would be extremely impressed if they actually were able to locate me. My point was that there is a lot of information that shouldn't be shared in a public forum, but, what we share here is of very little help to anyone. When I used the word tiny, I was talking about the odds of anyone wanting to come after any man, woman or child with kidnap on their mind when they don't even know if you have two nickels to rub together.

My Avatar has my picture and the pictures of three of my grandchildren. Does anyone know where my grandchildren live? Does anyone know other then a wide spot of land that encompasses the Raleigh area? It just doesn't make sense unless there is some magical formula that would somehow be able to instantly identify them. Even then I'm pretty sure that if anyone started to download names in an attempt to narrow the field that Goofyernmost or Grandchildren of Goofyernmost live in would not be forthcoming with very much information.

I agree with you completely. I haven’t said kiddo’s team name, and I have done an “edit” and drawn over the crest on any photo I’ve posted of him when in uniform, before I posted the photo.

I know you weren’t referring to size of the areas, and I realized that my response sounded like you did, so I edited it after I reread it.
I brought it up because I thought maybe people think there’s only a couple of competitive clubs in this geographical area.. there’s not, there’s many of them. Trying to find a youth player- in any sport- would be extremely tough. Their names and/or head shots are not posted publicly in tourneys, or on the club sites themselves.. only the team name. You have to be a member or a tryout participant to see the actual names on the team sites. (At least for baseball and soccer, can’t speak for the rest, but I’m assuming they’re similar)

Beyond the sports thing, I agree that a photo and city alone is not enough to go on. There’s just too many people. I don’t think anyone could see a photo of my niece and figure out where she is going to be...and I don’t think anyone can know where your grandchildren are because of your photo.

I’ll also add that I think the “kidnapping for ransom” monsters are a lot fewer than we think, or at least would want to be sure that there is a ransom to be paid. I don’t have it, and it would be tough to figure out if anyone had it, on a site like this. That’s a lot of risk for little reward, as you said.

If anyone wants to see the royal wedding this Saturday, get up a bit early. (I'm always up at 4:30, even on the weekends.) But I think you need to be watching TV by 5 AM (Eastern) or so. The wedding is sometime around noon in London, and they're 5 hours ahead of us (on the East Coast).

@FutureCEO , BBC America is having all kinds of wedding related shows on tv this week.

I also know that ABC, CBS, PBS, CNN and others start their broadcasts at 5 AM this coming Saturday morning. I can't wait! I've seen the other weddings (Diana and Charles, Kate and William, and also I saw part of Fergie's, etc. and am really excited for another royal wedding!)

I set the DVR to record it, coverage here starts at about 3am. No way am I getting up that early. I will just watch it when I feel like getting up! I am looking forward to it, I always like seeing what dress a bride chooses to wear.
