A very nice volunteer (she reminded me of Doris Day) and the valet parker got me into the car. I got really lightheaded (and my mother is known to jam on the brakes ) so we got lunch at McD's. The doc said extra caffeine for a few days would help so I had a large Dr. Pepper. (Not remembering I had to pee!) We had a torrential downpour while eating in the car so we had to wait it out, couldn't see to drive. But wait, it gets better.
We got to my house and my legs felt like a ton but I knew if I got in the house I could just lay down! My porch was extremely slippery and I got up two steps and couldn't get a grip on the bannister, stuck in between two steps! My mom "tried" to help lift my foot up (as I'm screaming I'm going to fall!!!) and she shoved me forward on my injection sight instead and I did a belly flop on my porch! But wait, it gets better!
My neighbor who happened to be in her yard came sprinting down the street to help me. With the torn hip muscle and my legs like jelly and in EXTREME pain I couldn't stand up. My neighbor called an ambulance and stayed until they got there. My mom was just in a shock. The nice EMTs got me standing and into the house. They asked if I needed to go to the hospital and I said no I just left there! They took my vitals 160/98, well with all that happened did you think it would be perfect? They said my bandages we're good and left. But wait, it gets funny.
I'm soaked from laying on the porch so my mom got me clean clothes to change. She put the wet ones in the washer and asked how I could be so drenched! Then I laughed and laughed through the tears. While freaking out about everything and not being able to get up I remembered (subconsciously) I had to pee.
Yesterday I slept most of the day and the doc said do nothing, and I did. The iodine wash has given me a rash so I'm so happy I can shower later! My best friend gave me a shower seat so I plan on just sitting under the water and napping. So that's been my adventures the past few days. Oh, and Star Wars, lots of Star Wars.
Please do and your club should maybe spend the summer in Antartica
THNX I'm sure he could have made do for a while with his size smalls seeing he's a bean pole but he complained quite a bit the past couple of days so I may as well get them over with. I have a gazillion pairs of size 32 dressy shorts so I only have to make a large stack of pull ons for around the house, yard work and such. Both boys now wear the same size so I'll make 10 pairs and the total cost will be about $20 including elastic and thread. My dh doesn't make fun of me buying clearence fabric and stashing it away any more edit the quote from @21stamps showed when typing but not when I posted
I learned that lesson last summer. I bought a ton of really cute end of season clearance summer clothing for A, and it fit her perfectly, but then when summer actually rolled around she wanted nothing to do with it because it was not a dress. And then it was not a princess dress. So now I make her tell me what she wants to wear. I spend more on the clothing, but I think I spend less overall because I buy less.
Way late, but, hope you were able to find something suitable!
When we went to NOLA for our 2nd wedding anni. in Dec. of '90 we stayed here, in the heart of the French Quarter, on the west corner of Bourbon and Toulouse (although, it wasn't a Sheraton at the time - pic from our 21st b-day trip weekend for youngest DD)...

We had a room on the 3rd floor with a balcony overlooking Toulouse!
For youngest DDs trip, we stayed at The Whitney, on the corner of Poydras and Camp, even more southwest than Canal. We did A LOT of walking, but, we had a blast!!!!!

Back in the day it was a bank, and they kept the original vault that you can pay to dine in...

NOLA is a fun place to visit for several days, all on it's own...!!!!!!!
Headed to VA Beach today for dd's competition tomorrow. Now it will be against 15 other teams. Yeesh!
Thanks all for the warm wishes. It was a looong day and a do nothing day yesterday. Let's say it was an adventure I don't want to do ever again.
First, I got to the hospital and checked in okay. They took me back to waiting room and said they needed some blood for testing and took four vials. Then they put in an IV....that I didn't need. But wait, it gets better.
They had me lay down in bed on the side with my torn hip muscle and I cried and cried until some nice nurse guy walking past the room came in and said the bed wasn't adjusted correctly and helped me. But wait, it gets better.
The procedure was done in my regular clothes, I was expecting a gown. They rolled me onto my stomach, cleaned my lower back and then put on lidocaine. The doc started injecting the numbing stuff for the nerves all in that area. Then I kicked and kicked again (which I told the nurse I did during my cortisone shots and they ignored) and the doc realized I needed more lidocaine.
After that I didn't feel anything but a hard pressure on that area. He said it was a slow drip to fill the vial and to breathe in and out then bear down like you need to poop and the vial will fill faster. Well after two of those I thought, if I keep doing this I'll need to ! He showed me what they took out and surprising fact....spinal fluid is clear like water! But wait, it gets better.
Afterwards I had to lay flat for two hours in a curtained cubicle with nothing to look at. It was to prevent a spinal headache, which thank the man upstairs I never got. They said it's like the worst migraine ever. After laying there for the first hour, I had to pee but I couldn't get up for another hour. But wait, it gets better.
Thirty minutes past the time they said I could leave someone finally came with my discharge papers and forgot I had this IV tube in! Duh! They also told me that with the numbing agents I'd be extra wobbly on my legs. Just great. By this time I forgot about the bathroom and just wanted to go home!
But wait, it gets better....

I'm so very sorry to hear you went through all that. Hopefully you'll have all the answers and your doc can fix whatever he/she finds with minimal discomfort GWS xoxo ps don't hate me I giggled just a bitA very nice volunteer (she reminded me of Doris Day) and the valet parker got me into the car. So, they are making the same mistakes of Cartoon Network? lol.I don't think Disney produce any crossover merch any more. They discontinued that when SWW finished. I heard that it was because they didn't want brand confusion
what.. the hell... I would have changed of doctors and treatments centers immediately after that BS o_oThanks all for the warm wishes. It was a looong day and a do nothing day yesterday. Let's say it was an adventure I don't want to do ever again.
