Out of curiousity, why fondant specifically?
It’s easier than piping sometimes, especially when I can cut out shapes.

We're in New Orleans. We've only been out for dinner and night time festivities so far because we arrived just before dinner yesterday. The food is amazing, though!!

Camera test shot in our house...

Lots of kids all over playing bucket drums. None had a hat out or anything for money so i think they were just having fun?

Shrimp po'boy with fried broccoli and cheese bites that were so good it was a spiritual experience :hilarious::hilarious:View attachment 277503
We were hungry when we finally sat down for food so we ordered nachos tooView attachment 277504

This is a no light/low light shot. It's too grainy to blow up for a poster or anything, but i thought it turned out pretty good, consideringView attachment 277505
Square donuts :hilarious::hilarious: this one could use some photo processing to lighten it up, thoughView attachment 277506

These things are MESSY to eat!! View attachment 277507

@21stamps I've seen a lot of kids here T's age and they appear to be having fun, but because we've only gone out at night so far we've only seen a bunch of drunk people in a party city. Not exactly a family environment. But there are a lot of family activities you can sign up for like swamp boats. I'll keep an eye out today in the sunshine, but I probably wouldn't bring my kid to the French Quarter at night until she's drinking age :hilarious::hilarious:

Great photos! You’re doing wonderfully with the new camera!
Looks like such a fun trip!!

Thanks for the tips so far.. I’m still going back and forth if cruising from there is worth the cold. What time did the roudiness start, early evening or not til later on?

Are you the only one of your friends awake? Seems like you had a long night. :hilarious:

Ha!! We actually had a pretty early night!! Being that most of us were up for work at five, we were back to the room and asleep by ten thirty ish.

Last night we got down to FQ around six ish and it was an adult vibe. I'll probably be hanging with the nephew today in the daylight though, so I'll report back!!

We've had that offer for a bit here. We don't have a KFC nearby but when are near one we get that. It should come with a biscuit too.

I really don't remember reading any of the classic books except A Tale of Two Cities. And even then I just remember reading it, not what is was about.
That is one I read a few years ago and it's hard to get into, but good once you get going. It's a fiction about the French Revolution. I didn't have to read that one in school...I think having to read for a grade rather kills any sort of enjoyment in reading because you can't just read and get out of it what you see...you have to find what OTHER people think is important about it and what resonated with them rather than with you. I've found that going back and reading some of the books I had to read in high school, without the constraints, I enjoyed them much more. I still can't get through Wuthering Heights, though....I think that one is a lost cause for me.

That is a girl book I have to admit. I loved it as well as Sense and Sensibilty, and Pride and Prejudice The movies are quite good as well. I have the DVD of Pride and Prejudice from the A&E version. It starred Colin Firth. :inlove: Secret crush. Didn’t mind the young Hugh Grant either. ;)
Unpopular opinion: I prefer the Kiera Knightly version of P&P...I didn't like the actress who played Jane in the one with Colin Firth, and while I don't mind Colin Firth, I really liked the awkwardness of the one who played in the Kiera Knightly one...but I don't know a single other person who feels the way I do. Everyone loves the A&E one. Should I run and hide now?

I read it for school in eighth grade. It was very heavy material for a thirteen years old. I don't really have any desire to reread it. The guillautine still gives me nightmares.
