No, no, no.
No toast. No ham. No cheese. No onion.
Just fried egg, S & P, ketchup, and beautiful soft white Wonder bread.

You are never going to make it as a Canadian.

Please, please tell me you put ketchup on mac & cheese.
I'm afraid the it is a northern thing with strong French influence happening here. We may put ketchup on eggs, Mac & cheese and many other things, but, we do tend to not cook our vegetables in bacon fat. (not that there is anything wrong with bacon fat, it just should never be used to cook the only healthy thing that we might tend to consume) In the south, nothing is saved from deep frying including ice cream. I am amazed that anyone down here lives past 40 years old.
I do have to admit, however, that southern fried chicken is absolutely the best thing ever.

Meanwhile, back in MA, there's been over 153 roof collapses from the weight of snow & ice, in the past 4 weeks.

A third horse barn collapsed today; all horses were led out (some had to be tranquilized from the fear, but were led out by vets and rescue personnel, with only minor injuries to the horses). It's also amazing with these 3 barns, that none of the horse handlers were inside feeding the horses, etc. when the roofs caved in. It could have been worse.

Also, a day ago, the ceiling of an ice rink was making odd noises, and the hockey coaches yelled for all the skaters to get out. Within minutes, the ceiling came crashing down with such force, that the pressure blew out the wall on an opposite side of the building. Thanks goodness for the quick thinking of those coaches; there were quite a few young boys around the age of 10 in there, who were at the rink for hockey practice.

It's like Chicken Little lately around here--the sky is falling!!
That is scary and I'm glad no one got hurt.

Yup...we southerners do like our fried anything, fried twinkies, fried butter, fried oreos. My dad used to fry day old donuts. I got away from all that while I was in CA, thank you baby jesus. I will have to say though, my first experience with fried ice cream was in a Mexican restaurant.

Yes but I also feel bad for my kids because their dad abandoned them. When they were younger I got them biographies and autobiographies on successful people like past presidents etc. who all grew up with one parent because the other parent left or died. I told them that they make their way in life and can overcome anything with prayer and a strong relationship with their higher power.
I did the same with my daughter and being the only child. It helped when she saw Daniel Radcliffe was one. :)

I eat some fried food, but not a lot. What I love (but hardly ever have it--not easy to find up here) is REAL southern barbecue! Oh man . . . there's nothing like it!! :hungry:

I love mayo. My favorite brand is Hellmann's. I've even been known to put some on a hamburger bun, and then some ketchup on top of that, with the burger! :D Add lettuce, tomato, and sliced Bermuda onions -- makes for kind of a sloppy mess, but delicious!! There's nothing like a 5-napkin burger!!! :hungry:

I like Hellmann's on my burger with ketchup too. Sometimes when I have French fries or some tater tots I mix some ketchup and mayo together for those too.

No quite honestly I get (insert PhotoDave word here) pi**ed off that my daughter's father missed all those experiences when he walked out us when she was a little baby.
It takes me back to my relationship with my dad, and makes me cry every time.

The bride/daddy clip is the one that really punches me in the gut. We had the exact same exchange minutes before walking down the aisle.
I've told you before, my mom always said that that was the second happiest day of his life - the first being the day I was born.

How can you argue with his beaming face?

ETA - I'm sorry your daughter is going to miss out on that. Every little girl deserves a daddy who thinks she is the smartest, prettiest, kindest, most talented person on the planet. :)

Nope, regular sized stove. It's just the photo angle, methinks.

And yes, that is ketchup. Hey, it's only been a few years that I've stopped putting ketchup on cabbage rolls. :hilarious:
Is ketchup with your grilled cheese not a thing in the States?
(I do know that lots of places south of the border don't put vinegar on their fries.)
I cut potatoes into thin slices, fry them up in oil, drain then spray them with malt vinegar and hickory salt. :hungry:

Up here, we use malt vinegar on our fries; harkening back to our more recent British roots probably.
I dip my fries sometimes in malt vinegar. Ketchup and grilled cheese I've never seen. But mine is made with lovely Wisconsin cheese that I couldn't put ketchup on, it would drown the taste of the yummy cheese. :hungry:

Yep, I occasionally like vinegar, BBQ sauce, etc. with my fries/chips. But, ketchup/catsup is the one thing I usually have with them. Usually, pumped up with Tabasco, etc.. :hungry:
